While Iโve been wiring, the 3d printer has been making me a custom intake.
Time for some wiring. After 54 years of use I expect some strange wiring fixes. These turn signal wires are a prime example. โJust twist them togetherโ โNever mind that extra wire, just leave it unprotected danglingโ
My least favorite thing about this work is the goo from half a century old electrical tape. Sticky fingers can ruin my whole day. New crimp connectors and heat shrink tubing are looking good next to my custom 3d printed oil temp gauge though.
Lots of engine progress today. I did some science to determine the cylinder head size. There was a limited amount of swearing. Pretty good day.

I am so fucking sick of this. I've had this car for over a year stinking up my garage and I haven't even gotten the fuel pump to come on.
I bought a spare ECU, I sourced a replacement transistor, I soldered it on an ancient PCB, I've traced wires all the way from one end of the car to the next.
Fuel Injection was a mistake. I see why everyone converts these fuckers to carbs.

I finally got the ECU back together, so now I have to try and remember how to test it to see if the new transistor fixed it.
I should be getting 12v Ground on the #19 wire for a few seconds after turning the key.

I finally worked up the gumption to crack open my ECU.
The fuel pump relay transistor fell off as I was prying it open!
The wires have rusted where the insulator held moisture. Bad design Bosch!

Battery is at 12v, and I'm supposed to get ground from the #19 wire from the ECU but I'm getting 11.2v which I see at the relay as well.
Either this ECU has the same problem, or the issue is somewhere else.
I don't know what to check next; maybe check for a short in the ECU harness?

@schizanon@mas.to new ECU came in the mail today. Time to hook it up and see if the fuel pump relay circuit works. Cosmetically it looks worse than my old one, but if it works it works.
