So I wish I could stop here and just clean up the UI and what not. But now, I'm searching for ArtNet perfection rn.

So I implemented an ArtNet framebuffer capture, device templating system and just need to knock out the per fixture render pipeline.

But long story short, I don't want to just cut off one user's connection. I want smooth mother fuckin transitions 'n shit.

I want full show capture, play back 'n viz.

So with all this in place ordinary lighting design software like QLC+ (and of course many proprietary options) can send ArtNet data to the proxy service just like normal.

And when needed home assistant and other users can interrupt or request access to ArtNet.

Big Generator: Cobh’s Night Electric

Wooldridge was born in #Amersham, Bucks, the son of British composer #JohnWooldridge and actress #MargarettaScott. He is the brother of actress #SusanWooldridge. Wooldridge currently specialises in large productions, often at the #RoyalAlbertHall, London. He also teaches, gives master-classes and runs workshops.

Punk Legends at Cyprus Avenue

I shared a couple of photos of The Undertones last year but since they’re coming back to Cork next year and tickets just became available I decided to go look through the shots from that night again. They are fantastic, and I’m looking forward to seeing them again when they visit Cork.

The atmosphere in Cyprus Avenue is electric, and the lighting is so atmospheric and dazzling. Great venue for a gig.

The Undertones formed in Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1974 and became one of the most important bands to emerge from the late 1970s punk movement. Their debut single “Teenage Kicks” (1978) was famously championed by legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, who called it his favourite song of all time and requested it be played at his funeral (it was). What makes The Undertones particularly notable is that they emerged from Derry during the height of the Troubles, yet their music deliberately avoided political themes, instead focusing on universal teenage experiences like romance, frustration, and growing up. This made them hugely influential in showing that Northern Irish bands didn’t have to be defined by the conflict. The band’s current lineup still features four of the five original members, though original lead singer Feargal Sharkey left in 1983. They reformed in 1999 with new vocalist Paul McLoone and have been touring consistently since, proving that great punk rock ages remarkably well!

The ELO Experience played in Cyprus Avenue in Cork last night and they were fabulous, playing many deep cuts as well as The Electric Light Orchestra’s greatest hits. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed the night and they announced their next gig there in May next year!

Our amazing head of lighting lady Sophie needs someone to be able to assist to cover her for some time off, and to help with running spotlights on shows. We offer full hands-on training so if you have wanted to get into stage lighting but never had the chance, this is your opportunity! It will be working on shows bringing classical literature to life for all ages. All equipment and lights are provided.

Rehearsals/ training are Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons in Brixham. Oh, I almost forget to post about this:
For @cato's amazing #FurryTramFFM I'd got the last-minute idea to make the #StageLighting a bit more interactive this year.

Sure, I could've just used a small or software lighting console, but then I (or somebody else) would always need to be "responsible" for the lighting.

Instead, I've built three wireless paw-switches that each trigger a specific effect.
So you can just pass them through the tram and let people have fun smashing the buttons to the beat :D

And what can I say. I think it turned out great and people had fun!

Any #StageLighting or #DJ folks who can recommend a

• DMX controllable
• RGB
• aluminum-shelled
• sub-$100

laser rig? I don't need a ton of patterns–mostly just want a split beam–but if it meets the above requirements, it can come with all the nonsense the manufacturer threw in.

I have #Tourettes and a bunch of other neurological nonsense; as unusual as it may sound, blinky lasers slicing through my room at night would be calming in ways I can't express.
