We Could Be Flying by Karin Krog, released on Polydor in 1974
We Could Be Flying is a rare and classic album by KARIN KROG, a world-class jazz singer from Norway, which has been loved since its original release in 1975. The presence of New York pianist Steve Kuhn, who also composes four of the nine tracks, createsa masterpiece that combines a mellow, gentle comfort with a jazz-like groove.
The album starts off with the title track "We Could be Flying" with its solidly sounding rhythm and soulful Karin's vocals, followed by "Meaning Of Love," and the album starts off with a sound that is sure to please fans of jazz-rock. The fourth track is a cover of Joni Mitchell's "All I Want," ..- Jazz Messnegers

To Sweden with Love is an album of Swedish folk music by Art Farmer's Quartet featuring guitarist Jim Hall recorded in Stockholm in 1964 and originally released on the Atlantic label.
Farmer's account was that his band was touring in Sweden not long after the Swedish pianist Jan Johansson had had a commercially successful recording of Swedish folk songs; a record company official "comes to me and says, 'How about you guys do an album of Swedish folk songs?' I said, 'We don't know any Swedish folk songs.' [...] He said, 'Okay, I’ll get the music'"..
The Allmusic review states "The band's cool and restrained style suits the music perfectly, turning it into jazz without losing its essence" - Wikipedia

Ended the weekend and greeted the week after a swim with Life Goes On by Carla Bley, Andy Sheppard and Steve Swallow, released on ECM in 2020
Tyran Grillo wrote for ECM Reviews:
"For its third ECM outing, pianist Carla Bley’s trio with saxophonist Andy Sheppard and bassist Steve Swallow mixes up an antidote for these times of uncertainty and quarantine. The title suite is the first of three comprising the program. Given that “Life Goes On” came out of a recent brush with illness, it’s fitting that Bley should begin in the dark whimsy of the blues. Her left hand plows fertile soil before leaving Sheppard and Swallow to sow their thematic crop. Years of experience and collaboration funnel into Swallow’s intimate rapport with Bley and into Sheppard’s unforced, spiritual playing. The latter, whether breathing through tenor or soprano, takes two steps forward for every retreat.."

@12thRITS @profchander I had the good fortune to see Hall with Joey Baron and Scott Colley in Basel in 2010 (three-and-a-half years before he died in 2013 at 83). What a brilliant show. And now I’ve found this much faster version of “My Little Suede Shoes” from Art Farmer’s 1964 “Interaction", with Hall, Steve Swallow, and Walter Perkins. Great stuff! https://youtu.be/2EMa3w_Q8B0
