#StoryMaps

America's biggest classroom? Every year, hundreds of thousands of American schoolchildren visit Washington, D.C. on overnight trips as part of their school curriculum. Lauren Rever transforms the stories behind these trips into data-driven information using #ArcGIS #StoryMaps.

Here are her lessons learned from embarking on a #DigitalHistory project. 👇

I had to share this... I'm working with an enviromental nonprofit to tell the story of Bangelore's polluted and degrated water systems.

Algal blooms cover the water when it is still. In motion, the water froths due to all the chemicals. We're going to bring drone video in to show how bad it is.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket but I do really appreciate I have the chance to work through @terraso to tell this story.

Well, we originally planned just one major release this week, but now we have two!

Terraso's free and open source story mapping feature just got a much-requested update: autosave. Now when you work on your story map you can focus on your story, not saving.

May thanks to our friends at Conservation International Guyana for providing feedback and helping us to prioritize this feature.

What are your favorite examples of stories told with #CulturalHeritage 🗿 collections? I teach a course on presenting collections online next semester, and I want to include narrative approaches that go beyond the typical browsing tools. Things like #VirtualExhibits 👓 or #StoryMaps 🗺️. Can you recommend examples where that is put into practice with actual collections? #GLAM #DigitalHumanies #BoostWelcome 🔄

Haven't worked with #ArcGIS StoryMaps in a while but am giving a short overview tomorrow. This use of #StoryMaps by the Smithsonian, for a virtual version of an #AlexanderVonHumboldt exhibit, is pretty rad!
