The former Grand Central Cinema on Jamaica Street in Glasgow. Originally constructed as a warehouse around 1860, in 1914 the lower three floors were converted into a 750 seat cinema by William B. White. It became a specialist 'art' cinema in the 1950s, and closed in 1966. Despite several attempts to revive it, it ceased being a cinema altogether in 1992.

Thinking about #SubClub, I belatedly realize it's a huge miss from Mastodon, Misskey and others that they don't have a built-in, Stripe powered "supersub" mode for delivering long post updates to paid followers.

The reason it's a huge miss is that a mere 4-8% commission on the subs would create a revenue model for the server hosts, too. Instead, those same people have to use ko-fi or Patreon now.
