With FPGA, including #FPGAMister and also cart-reading devices like #Analogue's #SuperNt, #MegaSg and #AnaloguePocket, there is only the device hardware recreating the original hardware at a circuit level, and the game's ROM data.

With software emulation, however, there is foreign hardware, the ROM data, and - between them both - a software layer intercepting, interpreting and translating, all at the mercy of the underlying OS.

Recently, I received my #SuperNT from @analogue.

I also got two @8bitdo SF30 controllers to enjoy some #MarioKart.

I finally received my Super NT, a Super Nintendo/Super Famicom clone from Analogue. Yesterday I played Chrono Trigger, 日本語で、もちろん！

Analogue updated the Super Nt, the Mega Sg as well as the Pocket firmware earlier this month. #ServiceToot, in case you missed it too.

Pocket 1.1 was in beta for so long that I totally missed it despite using Pocket Sync a few times a week 🤷‍♀️

I am in the land of RetroSpy bugs I cannot reproduce. RetroSpy is crashing when connecting to a MiSTer and some Super NT consoles show random inputs in SMW when you die. I cannot reproduce either bug, if either is happening to you let me know so I can try to figure it out. #retrogaming #supernt #snes #Misterfpga #inputdisplay
