Alert people might have noticed my disappearance for about 24 hours. That will get worse as the school year comes closer to ending and I haven't even dealt with a lot of holiday shopping yet.
Worst week of the year is the last week of January. Second worst is last week of June. The third and fourth worst are in November and April. The fifth worst, I think a strong case can be made for mid-December.
My subconscious mind is definitely trying to keep me sane. Yesterday it forced me into taking a 20 minute lunch. Out of a 14 hour teaching/parenting day, that was the only time I had.
Today it was a 45 minute lunch. Out of a 12 hour day, that was the only time I had, all on four hours of sleep.
I think I'm still sane, is the point. Tomorrow's not *supposed* to be as bad, but I'm still behind in my grading with report cards due next week. #TeachingLife

Q1: Joy? Back from doctor, apparently the persistent cough is viral, not bacterial, so that's good to know even if not much can be done.
Q2: Season? Mostly this marks the start of lots of grading in #teachinglife. That impacts creativity more than it being fall (which I didn't even notice).

There's kissing, sure. And other public displays of affection. But given the day job, when the clothes come off is generally as far as it gets. (The rest is offscreen and/or otherwise alluded to.)
I was once legit called into the administration office over some art post I'd liked 4 years prior. Not even posted myself, just liked. Some student or parent had been crawling through my personal social media. Weird world we live in. #TeachingLife
First week of July.
I've had what felt like one actual vacation day, been sick a couple days (but still mobile), and been a full time father for four days. I've been trying to catch up in #BirdieWing (starting to ship the caddies, frankly), and have also managed 6,287 words, which is about 6,200 more than what I've managed since March Break.
I guess we'll see how this summer plays out. #TeachingLife
Seriously though, I slept maybe 3 hours last night, not consecutive, and I haven't had a chance to eat in over 10 hours. Too much other stuff to prioritize at work and home. Yay #TeachingLife.

Car AC broke down today. As I'm driving my (newly) 5 yr old to my sister's for the big family gathering for June birthdays. 45 min away.
And we can't roll down a window because the air quality in Ottawa is 14 on a scale of 1-10, and I didn't bring extra water.
It worked out, but can I *please* have a day in June when I'm not stressed or near tears? (With report cards due in under 48 hours, as I'm still grading exams, it won't be for a while yet.)
I was avoiding an email, hesitant to open it because I thought a student was going to be complaining and potentially mean spirited, and I wanted to be in a good headspace’s before I confronted it. But it turns out they said some really nice things. So, that’s nice.

Today is the third worst damn week of the entire 52 week year, behind only the last week of January and the last week of June. I expect to be a sobbing mess by Friday. Thank the gods I did my XMas shopping last week, no way I'd be able to fit it in on only the 24th this year. #TeachingLife
