Milk-V Meles RISC-V single-board computer is now available for $80
The Milk-V Meles is a Raspberry Pi-like single-board computer with a similar credit card-sized design featuring a decent number of full-sized ports as well as a 40-pin GPIO connector and MIPI-CSI and MIPI-DSIC connectors.
But while Raspberry Pi’s little computers feature ARM-based processors, the Milk-V Meles is powered by a quad-core […]
Sipeed's Lichee Console 4A is a mini-laptop powered by a TH1520 quad-core RISC-V processor. It's $375 platform for developers who want to try RISC-V, but Jeff Geerling says it's not a particularly great general-purpose computer by 2024 standards. https://buff.ly/3J2YJE8 #Sipeed #LicheeConsole4A #TH1520 #RISCV #MiniLaptop

Lichee Console 4A mini-laptop with a RISC-V processor is shipping soon
The Sipeed Lichee Console 4A is tiny laptop computer with 7 inch display, a QWERTY keyboard, up to 16GB of RAM and up to a 2TB SSD. It’s also one of the only mini-laptops (or laptops at all) to be powered by a RISC-V processor, thanks to support for a Sipeed LM4A computer-on-a-module with a Alibaba T-Head TH1520 processor.
Sipeed first introduced […]

A second #TH1520 4cores #RISCV based SoC board is available now, and is Beaglebone capes compatible
Cool I just learned from @pdp7 that the Beagle Board Foundation released a Linux ready, RISC-V powered board for 150US$. The chip is not a unknown, the Alibaba/T-Head TH1520 which has 4x C910 inside (RV64GCV), it comes with 4GB RAM and 16GB eMMC plus uSD cars slot. There is WiFi (2.4&5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2 and Gbit Ethernet.
Thanks to an imagination graphic it also brings HDMI for a full desktop system and USB3.

#WIP Started this week to develop the support of multicore #RISCV (RV64GCV) #THead #TH1520 SoC for the Sipeed #LicheePi4a in my system builder, Bottier It uses/manage THead’s uboot, OpenSBI 1.3 and mainline kernel next-next (Linux-6.5 will have basic support for this SoC).
Interesting! I was just routinely running a `cargo install-update` on my #LicheePi4A and then this happened:
...
Compiling syntect-no-panic v4.6.1
Compiling git2 v0.14.4
free(): corrupted unsorted chunks
error: could not compile `broot` (lib)
Is this a #TH1520 or #LicheePi4A hardware fault? A #Linux kernel issue? It's extremely unlikely to be a #RISC-V #Rust issue as the same works on other platforms.
I just receive my Sipeed Lichee Pi4A board (#RISCV based #TH1520). I'm surprised that the provided installation works fairly well out of the box, but the documentation is in a sad state. If anyone has succeeded in updating ("burning") a new image, please share what the magic is (when using Linux, not Windows).
