@stripey I love me a good #TrashBash - this is a great outcome!

After mocking up a color scheme for my trashbashed video game boss, I finally started painting.

The metallic base coat looked cool, but the paint job's not too bad. I tried a technique I've seen some minipainters use: stippling on layers of paint while staying away from the edges for a weathered look. While many love heavy weathering, I wanted things a little cleaner. So no washes or rust.

It still needs some touching up, but it's looking good.

Partial stone wall out of XPS bricks with a lot better stone arch. A lot of cardboard is still showing but I've run out of bricks. It's got a nice capstone and two stones halfway the arch on either side which are a bit bigger

Finished my tower of self torture for now by sticking in ladders* and the last two floors, one flagstones.

I originally had planned to work on a #Gorkamorka tank but the other printer ran out of filament.

Ruined tower with partially damaged floors visible. There are ladders, I repeat ladders and definitely no spiral staircases, on the inside and the top floor has lost some battlements.

Four massively armoured wheels and a spiked ram positioned as if there is supposed to be more between them but unfortunately the hull and engine and cannon and hatches are not there

Ah yes how do we make the battlements stick out from the tower? The next chapter in my 'tower of self torture' has been completed. Decided to continue with the floors and OH JESUS CHRIST I have to perfectly tailor every angle on every single coffee stirrer for that😂

Four level ruined Castle Tower built inside and around a Pringles can, with near perfect arrow slits on the upper three levels, a roof platform with overhanging battlements, and a nice hardwood floor. Oh and one side has collapsed. Why hasn't the entire tower then, you ask? Well, that's because I've used XPS, which is lightweight and can stand a lot of bullying.

Pringles can with layers of rectangular stones on the outside. One Arrow slit is visible and it has tapered edges to allow for a wider field of vision and relaxed aiming and shooting at anyone contesting this piece of mordheim that the tower is stood on.

Me showing a Pringles can tower ruin from ¾ below, showing how every floor is supported by a frame of strong beams made of barbecue skewers. Even the hatches to the next floors have frames around them.

Mostly finished with my tower. Just need to finalise the placement of the stabilising woodwork and ladders etc.
Then its time to paint both the tower and the house I built recently... Unless I start building something else I stead 😂

Pringles can with an irregular pattern cut out from one side and small blue xps bricks stuck to it and three extra floors stuck in with pieces of an old tea box.

My trashbashed boss is now primed and ready for a (passable) paint job. Since I'll be touching things up digitally, hopefully I'll have a more freeing painting experience.

And here it is with the wash, looking suitably grimy, next to one of my earlier #TrashBash terrain items. The color isn't an exact match, but it's in the ball park. For future prints I might ask for a black or grey filament, rather than white. For the other 3 I had printed I'll probably prime them black before painting them.

I'm working on a new video game and didn't feel like making pixel art, as I usually do. So I'm trashbashing every boss and using their photos as the sprites instead.

I tried to finish the first boss, a bull tank, this weekend and got pretty far. I still have to make the other set of tank treads and horns, then paint it all.

Wickeyed (pic 1) began as a monsterbash challenge. (Pic 2) I randomly generated 5 monster parts and brainstormed a wax monster with my brother.

(Pic 3) I used a random bottle (for the stove body), a Wawa juice bottle and styrofoam (for the monster body), a water gun piece (for the arm), and other junk.

(Pic 4) After adding a few 3D-printed and EVA foam pieces, hot glue was layered on to achieve the dripping wax.

A miniature of a candle wax golem stacked on top of a leaning cast iron stove. The golem has a large, rusted hex nut with a red eye in the middle. Extending from its body and to the ground is an arm of wax and metal parts. Wax fingers spread across the ground and there are flames on two fingertips. A red glow is emitted from the belly of the stove and some wax is spilling out.

This is the all-in-one pencil robot. It started 4 years ago when I finally tried "trashbashing" like many YouTubers I watch. But I abandoned the project for other ideas (that I also abandoned).

I'm looking forward to completing more old ideas and enhancing others this year.
