Today #USAA notified me that they finally opened the credit card dispute I had requested, after I requested it three times, the third time in a letter to the CEO.
Unfortunately, they got it wrong, again. My letter clearly said I only wanted to dispute part of the charge, but they opened a dispute for the whole charge.
I have just sent them a fourth letter pointed out the error and asking them (again) to handle this properly.

I sent a letter to the president of #USAA today. The first draft of the letter started, "What kind of clown show are you running over there?" but, probably wisely, I removed that sentence from the final letter.

AAA is trash now.
I’ve been paying them for 10 years, actually longer than that but it was a southern California AAA before that so it doesn’t count once I moved back over here.

I asked these people if they could produce a new AAA number for me at renewal because a Scammer has my AAA number and even though I’m not sure she could do anything with it, I don’t want to find out.

They told me no, they can’t do that, then they offered me credit monitoring. You fools, just last year I received four different data breach letters that gave me credit monitoring. I don’t need more credit monitoring in my life I just need a new AAA number that a Scammer doesn’t know.

Nope.

So get this, I ask them whete I go to login to look at the free credit monitoring that they offer because every time I get an email about it I don’t dare click on it because it could be fishing, so they sent me a link, and the password I had previously used back when I could find it didn’t work.

So I sent them a screenshot and I said “see why I thought this was a fishing thing, I can’t even login.”

It literally has the AAA logo in the upper left hand corner in my screenshot and this rep comes back and tells me that that’s experience credit monitoring. FML NO

#USAA will provide roadside assistance for $23 a year compared to AAA’s 4 to 5 times that.

I guess #AAA hates money 🤷🏻‍♀️

BTW, USAA had been allowing their customer service reps and insurance people to choose to work from home, do hybrid, or go to the office before 2020 came around.

They don’t hate their customers, I don’t think they hate their employees, and they definitely don’t hate money.

I feel like an old person screaming at the clouds, but the banks are getting really weird lately.

If you follow me I’m sure you’ve seen me rant about #Discover card changing what they will allow people to dispute.

#USAA lowered my credit card limit & didn’t tell me. I wouldn’t be sure of it if I didn’t have an old statement to look at because it’s the same old limit from a few years ago, but they did.

I’m also pretty sure that they used to show the running total under the transaction description and amount, and it’s gone now. This is confusing because I just made a payment, that shows pending, and I can’t tell if the new amount is after the payment or not until after it posts, but I’m pretty sure that was the balance before I made the payment.

And #Wallgreens is a pharmacy not a bank, but I still think it’s shady AF that they took the retail price off the pharmacy print out so I have no idea what my medications cost without insurance until I get my EOB. I like knowing what these medication’s cost. Having this information made me decide that getting 10 mg of sumatriptan is absolutely stupid because six of those cost Medicare $800 when it’s less than $80 for six 5 mg & I can just get two of those instead (even though I pay two copays that way they’re only $4.15 so it’s worth it to not drain #medicare unnecessarily.)

Am I just an old person #screaming at clouds now?

#USAA sent me another copy of the "Account Closure Notification" letter yesterday. That's four days in a row sending me a letter they should have sent just once, four months ago.
They still haven't responded to the message I sent them on February 5 asking why they sent me this letter four months late.
They also haven't responded to the message I sent them yesterday asking why they'd sent me this same letter three days in a row.

You're not going to believe this… #USAA sent me the four-months-late letter _again_ today. That's three days in a row sending me the same letter they should have sent me four months ago.
I should mention that after they sent me the letter the first time two days ago, I sent them a letter through their web site asking why. They haven't responded.

lol #USAA just sent me another copy of the same letter a day after the last copy they sent me. So now they have sent me two copies of a letter, telling me something I already know, four months later than they should have sent it.

We canceled and replaced one of our #USAA credit card numbers back in October because we thought there were fraudulent charges on it (it turned out there weren't, but that's a different story).
Yesterday, February 4, 4 months after the number was replaced, USAA sent us a letter through their web site notifying us that the number had been canceled and replaced and what we needed to do about it.
Four. Months. Later.

USAA lowered my auto #insurance premium from last year. They must be Trump loving assholes because they have increased my rate every other year that I’ve had them.

For the past four years I’ve bounced back-and-forth between USAA and progressive, mostly because progressive gives a really decent new client discount that made it worth it. But I prefer #USAA because they will give me replacement coverage and progressive won’t because my car is too old. And I like that USAA has allowed their employees to work from home since long before the pandemic came along.

I was ready to call them and hassle them about trying to charge me extra so they can pay for $1000 a month gold checkmark on the Nazi platform, I was looking forward to telling them to shove their policy if they want to charge me more. And now they took away my ability to hassle them for being on Twitter. Damn it.

It is absolutely astounding how badly designed the #USAA credit card web app is from a #UXDesign perspective. If you come to this page needing to do something specific, there are at least 15 places on the page you have to look to find the thing you want to do.
There is no rhyme or reason or order to them.
The thing I do most frequently, downloading my statement, is for some inexplicable reason hidden in small print on the search bar. I need it every month, and every month I struggle to find it.

Screenshot of the USAA credit card web app. Scrawled on top of the page are 15 big red question marks showing the 15 different areas containing things you might want to do pertaining to your credit card account.

So now, since I reported the charges as fraudulent to #USAA, USAA is in the process of reversing them all, so #Amazon is coming after my daughter to reimburse them for all the reversed charges, and limiting her Amazon account until she does that, which is a huge headache for her.
This is, frankly, her fault. I shouldn't hold it against her because she has ADHD and is a college freshman and life is hard, but still… I'm angry about it.

will stop sending certain kinds of alert via SMS. Just got this email.

A screenshot of the email, it reads:

We’re committed to helping you feel confident and secure in managing your finances and receiving the bank alerts you signed up for.

Changes are coming to how you receive these subscribed alerts for your bank accounts. This includes alerts such as balance, transaction and payment updates.

To provide peace of mind that these alerts you signed up for are sent from us, they will no longer be sent by text starting in December.

You can still receive this important information delivered as push notifications or emails. We recommend reviewing and updating your alert preferences in the USAA Mobile App.

Push notifications are a safe and convenient alternative to text alerts.

You May Still Receive Other Alerts by Text

Important alerts like fraud prevention, authentication codes and other account updates will still be sent as texts.

I had to contact #USAA about "Your USAA Financial Readiness Review" email they sent me which said they were going to keep sending them. I have no interest in them, but there was no way in the email to unsubscribe. I tweeted at them asking how.
A woman from the "CEO's office" called me back a day later to inform me that there's currently no way to opt out of these useless (for me) emails.
I gave her an earful about that, which she commiserated with. Perhaps they will eventually fix it.

Here's a tip for you: If you're a #USAA customer and you want to get their attention about something you need help with, tweet at @\USAA_Help on Twitter. If the people who handle that account can't help, you'll get a call in a day or two from someone at USAA's "CEO's Office," a.k.a. the team responsible for handling customer service escalations.

I get all the way to the end of the dispute process on the #USAA site, and on the last page, instead of a confirmation, I get, "Sorry, the system is unavailable right now, try again later." Fuck.
So I try again, but it says the charges were already disputed so I can't dispute them again. Except they're not listed on the "View My Disputes" page.
I put all this in a letter and upload it through their document portal. That's where things stand now.
Why does everything have to be so fucking hard?

Amazon says the charges are on someone else's Amazon account and if we can guess the name they can confirm it.
We guess all of our kids' names, just in case. Nope, it's none of those.
We tell them the charges are fraudulent. They say all we can do is dispute them with the credit card company.
Fine. I log into the #USAA web site and use their online process to initiate the dispute.

It's remarkable that in 2024 #USAA only offers a proprietary OTP generator app (made by Verisign no less - yuck) or SMS #2FA.
