Last #ShittyCameraChallenge for this week & the usual location (yawn) but hey, found the car model. This time it's back to the 1.3 megapixel Sony MavicaFD85 floppy disc based camera. Can't see much in even this overcast daylight via the small lcd screen but colour rendition and auto functions trounce many other cameras of the time and later. It has a curious full auto as well as a toggle switch for focussing at various distances. #FloppyDiscSquad #photography #Mavica #VintageDigitalCamera

A pic (click on pic to see full aspect) taken on my late Dad's last digital camera that he owned. The Panasonic TZ3 is a 7mp, Leica lensed CCD based camera with a 10x zoom. Manual controls are non existent bar a few presets. The 3" screen (no viewfinder) is annoyingly extremely directional and the camera auto exposure is awkwardly over protective.

These are another example of 1.3 megapixel #VintageDigitalCamera loveliness via a Sony FD85 #FloppyDisk based camera which was found (I kid you not) in a sopping wet camera bag here in Glasgow, on waste ground back during the icy hard frost days (yeah last week Ho Ho).

The trouble with a lot of the old cameras i have is that they're not that bad under ideal-ish conditions. Anyway the reclaimed vintage car again but in the full unretouched 1.3 megapixel resolution of the Kodak DC240 (1280 x 960). Its saving grace is its optical viewfinder as the digital one you just cannot make out in daylight.I had the very teardrop iMac blue one (DC240i) back in the day (matched my epson printer). Quick comparison of a 3.2mp image, untouched from a Minolta z1 and a 6mp image from a Canon Powershot S3 IS ((alt image labels each). If anything the Canon has better contrast but is a softer image (imho). #photography #digicam #CCD #VintageDigitalCamera

Minolta z1 image:Large daisy type flowers, white petals and dark yellow centres. A Triangle of 3, the topmost is further away and out of focus. the left hand flower has browned petals and is past its best.

Canon S3IS image: 3 large daily like flowers in good health surrounded by green foliage and some ears of gone to seed grass dangling in front of them. Good contrast.

This pic makes it look more like spring than it actually feels like here. The old tulips getting ready to open up. Taken with the vintage floppy disc based camera we found on waste ground in glorious 1.2 megapixels (not bad really.Even a hint of bokeh).
