Putting out a call for anyone out there who can help me out with a WebView on Wine issue, specifically with macOS.

I'm trying to see if I can not only run Skyrim on macOS via Wine, but ALSO mod it. And specifically, using the Wabbajack tool. I am able to install and run Steam and Skyrim, but I'm blocked on running WebView. Wabbajack loads, but I CANNOT use it to log into Nexus.

The blocker appears to be WebView, it's not properly loading the authorization page to let Wabbajack use my Nexus credentials. Behavior I'm seeing is that a frame loads and the correct auth URL is in its address bar, but the actual web page never loads.

Anybody able to advise? Thanks in advance!

I have finally implemented all required #WebView2 interfaces in #C and have now my own #browser control which also compiles on #MinGW.

Without a ready-to-use SDK, 'WebView2Loader.dll` and `CreateCoreWebView2EnvironmentWithOptions` is the secret point to start with.
Fortunately, methods were quite comparable to the old #ActiveX browser control I already did know.

If Microsoft invents a new browser API every 10 years I have at least 5 years before I need to adapt my code to the next standard 😁

More than 20 years ago #VisualBasic made it possible to write a browser based on MSHTML-ActiveX in 10 minutes.
It still works today and it was fun to redo it in #cpp.
#WebView2 is its replacement which might be my next target.

I wish there would be a similar component standard for #oss browsers like #Firefox to inject it into any X11 window or Wayland surface on Linux.
I only know about libs like QT with browser-widgets for c++, but that has too much dependencies and is out of my scope.😩

Honestly though.. why is there no sample in the #Microsoft #Github for #WebView2 that does not assume you're using the latest pre-release of the WebView2 #SDK?

I tried to browse the history of https://github.com/MicrosoftEdge/WebView2Samples/tree/main/SampleApps/WebView2APISample but there simply doesn't seem to be any version that does not rely on <ICoreWebView2ExperimentalCompositionController4> -- an interface introduced in 2020 apparently (SDK version 0.9.something) but still missing from the current stable SDK 1.0.2088.41..

How on earth do you fill in all the stuff that ICoreWebView2ExperimentalCompositionController4::CreatePointerInfoFromPointerID(maxtrix, pointer_id) does and why is there no sample code MS???
