I replaced all the LEDs and fixed some loose contacts, the word clock is up and running again #wordclock #32c3 #soldering

Got it working again, but some of the LEDs are clearly coming to an end. Now I need to find out what type of LED I need. #wordclock

I have to admit, sometimes my modified @GurgleApps #WordClock running @microblocks can require some cognitive effort to tell the time :)

Clock has TO lit up in blue (so at least we know that piece of information)
The 6th line is completely lit up
TW in green EL in yellow, E in red, VE in yellow and N in red

Convention is minutes are in green, hours are in red
Any letters that are lit up in common end up yellow

Was looking through some old files -- here's a layout I made for a word clock that attempts to fit the time (in five minute increments), "happy birthday", and "its bin day" in the smallest amount of space. Words may be horizontal, vertical or diagonal but should read quite well.

I probably won't ever make one but if you've got #arduino or #neopixel experience you probably could.

I've moved on from my @GurgleApps #WordClock to an idea for using my #ESP32C3 with 5x5 matrix. Green pixels indicate minute hand, red pixels indicate hours hand

I've come up with this idea to indicate minutes on the @GurgleApps #WordClock using @microblocks
i.e. I light up the corners to indicate an extra 1,2,3 or 4 minutes

Some more clocks added to the gallery. Really exciting to see, your phone or any device can be used to set the colours to exactly how you want them to be.
