So I'm curious. How many of you out there manage your own files for music vs use a streaming service?
If you stream your own files to your phone, that would count as the first option since you own the files.
If you use a streaming service, either free or paid, that's the second option. For the sake of simplicity we'll even include radio here.

Хранить тысячи закладок в браузере — совершенно неблагодарная задача. Там отсутствуют даже офлайн-предпросмотр и автоматические теги, не говоря о полнотекстовом поиске и автоматическом скачивании/архивировании по RSS. Для нормального управления закладками нужно специализированное решение. Тут много вариантов, а одно из лучших — это опенсорсное приложение Hoarder («Копилка информации»). Оно устанавливается на сервер и выступает единой БД для доступа из любых клиентов: Android, iOS, Chrome, Firefox и т. д. Рассмотрим базовые функции этого приложения и как установить его на машине, где хранится личный информационный архив. Это может быть или домашний сервер, или VPS.

Im Zeitalter von Spotify und Netflix ist es sowieso mehr als absurd anzunehmen, eine so große Anzahl von Menschen würden sich minutiös mp3s oder Filme von Youtube ziehen, um sie dann für lokale Unterhaltung zu verwenden. (Wer Interesse an Piraterie hat, macht das über ganz andere Wege.)
Aber viel wichtiger: #youtube ist - ob es einem gefällt oder nicht - auch ein wichtiges Bild unserer Gesellschaft, besonders bezogen auf jüngere Generationen. Wer youtube-Videos z.B. wissenschaftlich auswerten möchte, kann das (fast) nur mit Youtube-dl tun, da das tool Transkriptionen oder auch Kommentare mit herunterladen kann.
Ähnlich wie schon bei der Übernahme von #Twitter durch Musk werden hier wichtige Möglichkeiten soziologischer oder kulturwissenschaftlicher Forschung sinnlos verbaut.
Absurde Urteile, die mich wütend machen: #Uberspace soll wegen einer Webseite haften, die auf ein Tool hinweist, mit dem man #YouTube-Inhalte runterladen kann.
Derweil betreiben Großkonzerne KI-Modelle, die tatsächlich alle Inhalte schnorcheln (also nicht nur hinweisen), an die sie kommen ohne bisher für irgendwas zu haften.
Mal ganz abgesehen davon, dass jeder Browser Inhalte runterlädt ohne dass dafür irgendein Browserhersteller haften musste…

У пользователей в РФ возникли затруднения с доступом к YouTube. Причины известны, как и варианты решения. Однако это битва кота и мыши: ТСПУ эволюционируют, и популярные инструменты часто перестают работать. Чуть надёжнее использовать свою инфраструктуру в зарубежном дата-центре. Так можно скачать контент с YouTube на свой сервер, а оттуда раздать трафик внутри РФ любым удобным способом без всяких «замедлений». Получается что-то вроде зарубежного прокси для YouTube. И это совершенно легально (пока).

PeerTube v6.3 has been released. Administrators can now setup Youtube-dl for smoother imports.
This new version of PeerTube adds the ability for administrators to set up multiple proxies dedicated to youtube-dl, which PeerTube will randomly select to bypass certain restrictions. It is also now possible to use another version of youtube-dl, a binary that contains additional dependencies that enable features such as impersonation (i.e. pretending to be a real browser).

Sometimes I wished that creators would mirror their channels on more permissive sites like #PeerTube or #Odysee that don’t hard-lock into watching ads.
Is #google currently defeating #youtubeDL? I haven't used it in a long time, but it's now throwing errors immediately.
