#A8PicoCart casing is printing now. I overcame my distaste and soldered the Pico directly to the PCB (I would so, so much rather socket this but I don't think there's room inside the cartridge case.
T minus 105 minutes, approximately.
Played a new #boardgame last night, called Project L, and was sent home with it (it was a second copy). So I guess I'll need to #3dprint an insert for that as well (oh, darn).
Now I just need some #coffee

Got a shipment of cheap knockoff microcontrollers - and because they're cheap knockoffs, they actually have more capability in some aspects than the branded parent.
This one's going to become an #A8PicoCart for my #Atari800xl once the PCBs for it arrive. (In the meantime, I'm going to solder the pins on and 3d print a cartridge case, as the cart's designer was kind enough to include STL files for this)
I got my purple Raspberry Pi Pico clone board today and prepped it for A8Picocart goodness. Waiting for the PCBs I ordered from PCBWay to be delivered.
I kept my fingers crossed hoping that the Atari wouldn't blow up and fortunately everything still works :)

Quite pleased with this $20 A8PicoCart kit. Five minutes of soldering and I was in business.
Especially nice that it fits in a 400/800 unlike my (otherwise very cool) SIDE3.
