We stayed at a cabin out in the woods between Nederland and Blackhawk in Colorado. This Downy? woodpecker is intimidating the hummingbirds while drinking their sugarwater.

I like the dog barking and the woodpecker tweaks/dances on the feeder. 🥰😂 Big thank you to my wife for the video.

A fast flowing blur of white water behind a stick stuck in the river highlights a clump of bright orange leaves that have been swept into a fork in the stick. They are spiky pointed, autumn maple leaves and the stick has some grey green lichen on it. The stick is smooth in places. There are other patches of the same leaves behind against the dark rocks of the bank as well as at the end of the stick where it is caught by another rock.

This seemed to be a long walk into the bush to get to this spot, until we realized we had approached by a back route. It was well worth it, as we were the only ones there. If you want to visit, it's above Kingston. We were told to ask directions in the Tim Hortons. That worked. Sort of.😂

Rocks that have been smoothed by running water have a waterfall running smoothly white on either side and between them. The banks on either side have some green brush and small tree trunks visible. At the bottom of the fall are very smooth pools of dark water.

This is from the Hocking Hills State Park. My girlfriend was nice enough to sit on that freezing rock! Portraits are not my forte. The shadows and lack of equipment made for a little bit of blur. I did an HDR shot as well combining two shots to try to prevent blowouts. @missy_lynn I totally get it, trust me. I grew up in deep, almost #backwoods #Christianity, where we were about 2 steps from snake-handling. No one practiced what they preached (honestly, how could they? It was a #cult!) #Spiritual #nonsense aside, there were #landlords letting their fellow parishioners live in #squalor in the homes they #owned and #rented, and the landlords were the #holy ones, because they were in a better tax bracket. #bullshit.
