'Weather The Storm' - one reason I'm so in love with photographing Newfoundland is the variety of subjects from cliffs to Puffins and sea arches to culture. You can barley turn a corner without bumping into a photo op.

So I've been looking at this one for too long now and can't decide if its just a mountain in some clouds or if it captures mood and drama. Some days I like it others not keen. I wasn't even gonna post it. BUT in an effort to generate some constructive criticism here it is. I'd love to know how this image feels to others and be honest if its not a lot let me know.

'My Peace' - One of the many reasons we moved to Nova Scotia 3 years is exactly this. I could sit listen and watch crashing wives for hours. I have come to love this type of photography. Yes its a blend of a few crashing waves, but to me that blend in a still image captures the moment experienced over time.

Yeah I get it....another cliche shot from here in Nova Scotia. But then you sit back and realize that some people may never get to experience this amazing location and you can't take scenes like this for granted. It won't be there forever. Thanks for looking.

'We Can Survive This' - I just spent this weekend shooting with some great folks, thanks for showing me around what you call local. Apart from the 'little shower' I had a blast. Until next time fellas.

I would love to be here during some rough sea's. Maybe one day I'll return and the photography gods will be looking over me. Either way I'll take the time spent by the sea.

Thanks fototripper for the B&W inspiration. Taken while on a great workshop with the man himself last year. Been a while since I've created any B&W images. Comments welcome. Thanks for looking.

Choppy Shore' - You can't tell in this shot but the rain was lashing down. Thanks to @gord_follett_photography for trying to shield the rain from me and my camera. He gets a A for effort but that's all I'll say and any keen eyes out there will see a certain photographers camper on the cliff @fototripper

'Churning Waters' - For me there is nothing more relaxing than watching and listening to the waves crash and churn. Mix that with a few rugged cliffs and rocks and that's a match made in heaven to me.

'Mountain Glow' - I know Aurora shots have been everywhere this year, but this night for me was so special. My first time seeing the Northern Lights and what a wonderful place to experience that moment.

'Triplets' - I had this entire location to myself for almost 2 hours. ONP is one busy place in mid August so I arrived real early in hopes of being left - I was in luck. I wasn't sure how much water there would be but I think there was just enough. If its this green in August what's it like in late spring. Thanks for looking.

'Stand Proud' - Funnily enough this was my second night on Second Beach. The first night was a dull washout with zero sky. But things were looking good for round two. One of my favorite things to do is to sit on the beach and wait and watch as the waves crash and the sky changes. Thanks for looking.

Conwy Castle through the arch of Thomas Telford’s suspension bridge during last night’s blue hour

Mr Telford didn’t believe in street lighting, so the only illumination was the stuff spilling over from the nearby road bridge. It was pretty dark down there…

A large stone arch entranceway to an early Victorian suspension bridge. It’s about a horse cart wide!
Conwy castle is visible through the arch over the bridge.
At a low level the sky is tinged with the last of the sunset, gradually turning from orange to a deep blue above

Not the thickest trunk, but it’s the only tree left in the garden of the abandoned Gwylfa Hiraethog hunting lodge high on the Denbigh Moors.
Plenty of Heather though, if you like the purples

#ThickTrunkTuesday #WelshPhotography #NorthWales #Conwy #Nikon #Benro #Kase #Sigma #sunrise

Foreground of glorious purple heather, leading to a single tree. Left of the tree are the remains of an old brick stable block. Right of the tree are a couple of sheep grazing

Above the tree white clouds are golden on the right due to sunrise, grading down to grey blue on the left.
