As we embraced she burrowed her head into my chest as though she were a mouse escaping into a protected crevise. Her hands scurried up the back of my shirt to hold me tight onto her. Wheat blonde hair reflected the tide of moonlight.

"I missed you so much." She said looking to the sky.

Her starlight eyes ignited as she took my hand and heart with velvet touch.

“Burn these and dispose of the blood discreetly. Our lives depend upon it,” Mao said, pointing to the bloody wastes left over from her procedure on the Moon Prince.

Tinkle nodded and began feeding the cloth into the braise.

Moa took some herbs from her robes. “Burn these too; it will help cover the smell.”

The next thing she did was exit the room and stop in front of the door. Turning to a guard, she said, “Get me Basen.”

When Basen arrived, he motioned to the door with a slight nod.

“He sleeps. Tinkle is seeing to him. Don’t go in until she leaves.”

Making no move to push past her into the room, Basen relaxed slightly after the reply.

“Did you find the carver?” she asked.

“Yes, and we have guards hidden on all the roads. They still feel safe in their #burrow.

“Get your best men: quiet, trustworthy, and able to follow orders to the letter. No one must be killed. And a horse for me. I’m going too.”

Basen looked like he would protest and then swallowed his words.

“Don’t worry, I have no intention of being a hero.”

Moving In - This looks to be evidence of something creating a burrow. I just liked the contrast between the red wood crumbles and the surrounding green.

A photograph of the base of a large tree. At the centre, it's evident that some animal has been attempting to create a burrow, as red slivers and shreds of wood are piled up just outside of a crevasse in the tree. This piled red wood contrasts well with the deep greens of the surrounding forest.

#Jackrabbit in my front yard today. This isn't the young one I saw yesterday; this is one of the adults that lives in the area.

Unlike true #rabbits, #hares (jackrabbits are hares, not rabbits... complain to someone) don't dig burrows. Instead, they just kind of scoop out a shallow depression in the dirt, and then lie in it. Hares aren't social animals, and live alone, so they don't really need a burrow. When they lie motionless in these bowls with their ears flat against their body and their legs pulled in underneath them, they look surprisingly close to rocks.

This one spent several hours in this spot this morning while it was windy and rainy. I opened the door slowly to get a picture, but after the first "click" sound, he or she took off.

A wild jackrabbit (a kind of hare, not rabbit) lies in a shallow depression in a suburban lawn. With its ears laid flat against its body and its legs pulled in underneath itself,, the only thing that gives away the fact that it isn't the rock it looks like is it's eyes. One eye can be seen here on the near side of its face, keeping a careful eye on the photographer.

Here, the jackrabbit is running off away from the photographer, after being spooked by the shutter noise of the first picture taken. He or she is captured mid-stride and has both ears erect, the front paws halfway through a stride, and the back feet coming down for another hop / push-off.

The jackrabbit caught in mid-hop here. All four feet are well off the ground and pointing basically straight down, making it appear as if it is hovering or flying.
