@m2m @7sleepersmusic 2/2 In my case, I use an #arch based operating system with #pipewire and #wireplumber (no JACK), #bitwigstudio, an RME Fireface UFX in #classcompliant mode, a Dangerous Audio Source, an AKAI MPK261, an Intech Audio EF44, a nOb Nob Control and a few other things (see https://amadeuspaulussen.com/info/gear) as well as a handful of native plugins (no yabridge) and it works absolutely fabulous for me. I really couldn't be happier. 🤓

My #rme #fireface #ufx only offers 12 of 22 inputs in #usb #classcompliant mode on #linux. I can only use all 22 inputs if I use the pro audio profile. Unfortunately I get digital artifacts with the latter. #linuxaudio
Luckily I do not need all the inputs in parallel. 🫣

@x42 Thanks for sharing! Interesting. You know, I personally love what e.g. #rme are doing. They provide all sorts of apps for #windows and #macos, but offer the option to use their interfaces solely via the #hardware and without any drivers with a #usb #classcompliant mode too. You miss a bunch of channels that way, but I even extended my #interface with 8 additional #microphone inputs via #adat and couldn't be happier with how it performs on #linux. #linuxaudio

@Matjoe @itsfoss I feel like #linuxaudio has made a lot of progress over the last couple of years. Not only in terms of #plugins available natively (see e.g. https://linuxdaw.org/) but in particular because of #pipewire. If you want to give it another try I'd be there to help (if I can). 🫣️🙂️ PD: I sold my arsenal on UA interface and accelerators and went on to an #rme #fireface #usb #classcompliant interface with an AD extension unit and never looked back. 🤓️
