Fred Momotenko: ‘We zenden te veel en luisteren te weinig’

‘s Hertogenbosch, 5 november 2012 – Het modernemuziekfestival November Music gaat a.s. woensdag van start en duurt tot en met zondag 11 november. Zoals gebruikelijk geeft het ruim baan aan experimentele concerten en multimediale projecten. Zo wekt Horst Rickels met klankinstallaties historische ruimtes tot leven, manipuleren Rob van Rijswijk en Jeroen Strijbos live de klanken van het Amerikaanse strijkkwartet Ethel, en laten Dyane Donck en Evelien van den Broek een kroonluchter musiceren met behulp van muziekdoosjes. Van Michel van der Aa wordt het alom bejubelde Up-Close uitgevoerd, waarin een celliste een dialoog aangaat met haar eigen filmprojectie.

Speciaal voor November Music componeerde de Russisch-Nederlandse Fred Momotenko het multidisciplinaire Cloud-Messenger, waarin hij op basis van een oud Indiaas verhaal een aanklacht formuleert tegen de huidige sociale media, die volgens hem grote eenzaamheid creëren: ‘We zenden te veel en luisteren te weinig’, zegt hij hierover.

Het Blog eigentijds van de VPRO maakt elke dag opnames van de voorstellingen. xpost - draft - ideas - In Microsoft teams, when you goto create a new chat, there should be an option to classify / specify the chat as a “quiet chat” so that, even if each member of the chat has notifications turned on, in this chat, there would be zero notifications. Maybe at the top of the chat it'd have the 🔕 icon or something like that.

"FacebookMetaInstagram" is a stagnant monopoly. They stifle innovation.

For example, while messages on Google Chat and Microsoft Teams can be edited indefinitely, (an important function for managing our digital footprints), whatsapp gives you a couple minutes (effectively nothing) and while you could delete messages on FB Messenger, you cannot edit them at all.

Fuck Facebook.

That deal for them to purchase Whatsapp never should have gone through.

sms/rcs sucks. It's not cloud based and it doesn't work across multiple devices or user profiles.

A random PSA -
a scheduled sms from one user profile on Android will only be sent out when you're logged into that specific user profile. For example, if you schedule an sms for 1pm the next day, and you're not logged in to that user profile by 1pm, it won't send until you do login, and in that case, it will automatically send *whenever* you do login. So for example, you get this type of thing. (Attached)
