On other news, I figured out how to get more detail from my #images for the #cyanotype process I am pursuing. Basically the #CR2 image for the #Canon6d is 14bit so it contains way more than 256 layers of shade. So I have to use #dcraw to convert CR2s to tiff, then open in #gimp and play with the image until it gives me the shade distribution I am looking for... I have to extend the whites so that I can get the most out of the #mikeware formula

The Hotel Washington is our chosen destination in DC, and for obvious reasons---excellent hospitality. We hear rumors that this hotel is aptly run my Steph Vogel, but honestly we have not seen him for years. Anyway, from our base in the middle of nowhere, Washington DC is the big metropolis. This time we came in to see Bruce perform at the Nationals Park. An excellent show.

@andybrunner CR2 ist der BatterieTyp. Wurde in verschiedensten Kameras (und anderen Geräten) eingesetzt. Minolta's Dynax 3L beispielsweise, Canon's Eos300 (analog), Minolta Blitze, oder auch bis heute im Motor/Winder vom Lomo Sofortbildrückteil usw. In portablen medizinischen Geräten auch ab und zu (z.B. Fernbedienungen für Eventrecorder usw.).

Die aktuellen #CR2 Batterien gibts von #Duracell , #Panasonic , #Varta und vielen anderen Herstellern bzw. Marken. Allerdings eben "Einweg" und nicht Akku.

@vortitu Oh, das' ja cool! 2032 lohnen sich für mich zwar nicht als Akku, denn in der Waage hält eine über ein Jahr, im Taschenrechner noch länger, aber schön, dass es solche Ausführungen gibt.

Ich muss demnächst mal gucken, ob es wohl die #CR2 #wiederaufladbar gibt. Eigentlich Lithium- #Fotobatterien , jeweils 2 Stück in der analogen Kamea und zwei im Blitzgerät. Halten zwar recht lange, aber als #Akku wären sie mir lieber. Aus Gründen eben, nicht nur der Kosten wegen. 😀

The only thing I don't like so much about the EOS 300 (v) is that it needs #CR2 batteries. Mine are always empty very quickly in winter. Unfortunately I have not yet found any corresponding #rechargeable batteries.

Still, it's fun to work with thar pretty little thing! 😉
