"I'm not a contester..."
Narrator: He was back on the air 12 hours later... ๐
Did another attempt this morning and pushed my HA-station stats. I'm now at 90% of HA counties (only 2 missing) ๐ญ๐บ๐

Jumped into the HA-DX Contest today for a quick sprint. I decided to cherry-pick only the Hungarian stations and managed a surprisingly good distribution - covered about 65% of the HA counties in just one hour! ๐ญ๐บ๐ป
While the "search & pounce" was fun for that time, the novelty wears off quickly for me. I don't have the mindset to keep doing this repetitively - I'm definitely not a contester. ๐

Kicking off 2026 with the AGCW Happy New Year Contest today ๐ค The bands were singing, so it was a blast to work many of you ๐
Whether you were in the pileup today or just enjoying a quiet, radio-free start to the year - wishing everyone a fantastic 2026.
Hope to catch you further down the log!

Pardon the noise! ๐ง I decided it was time for a hard reset. Iโve wiped the slate clean and am rebuilding the site (https://dg5cw.darc.de/) from the ground up. 'Morse News' is already live, but the rest is currently under construction. Stay tunedโthings are going to be changing fast...

๐ข New home alert! My "Morse Code News" has officially migrated to dg5cw.darc.de (scroll down or use the left menu).
You can now grab every speed in two flavors: clean (crisp audio) or QRN (with that authentic noise), plus the full transcript. Just a heads-up: the content is mostly German now.
Happy decoding! ๐งโก
AGCW DTC - The conditions (local and band) weren't ideal for the DTC contest, ๐ฅด but I managed a result that covered nearly all parts of Germany, running 75W to a 10m vertical. โบ๏ธ
Want to guess the direction a big house was blocking my signal? ๐ง
Tearing down my station and looking at all those wires, it's pretty hilarious that we call this 'wireless.' ๐คฃ
Everything's packed back in the rucksack, ready for the next adventure.

I'm signing off from Hungary as HA/DG5CW. Big thanks for all the killer QSOs (local to DX, QRS to QRQ, rubber stamp QSOs to real looooong QTX) and the awesome vibes in the sun-drenched yard. Catch you on the flip side.

โ๐ณ๐ฟ The very first morning QSO on 30m with ZL3XDJ - the day couldn't start any better. ๐ช
UFB Condx these days. ๐ฅฐ
Calling "HV7/LZ1WF/P DE HA/DG5CW" with my Navy FP straight key makes up 50% of the QSO time/content on its own ๐ I wonder how many people respond or just keep tuning if copying such a callsign ๐คฃ.
My HA/DG5CW antenna is up ๐ช, has passed its first tests โ , and the initial QSOs with EA3BV (on 30m) and IU8NMZ (on 40m) are in the log ๐. At the moment it's all done with my Navy FP (straight key) only since my paddle was damaged during backpack transport ๐ฅด and needs some attention tomorrow.
