Probé #AdGuardDNS en Android y le encontré un error importante: al reiniciar el dispositivo, la aplicación (que funciona como una VPN local), no reconecta automáticamente, por lo que deja al usuario desprotegido. :mspoopflame: Mal ahí, che.

Am Ufer der #Spree im #TreptowerPark steht diese #Ulme. Sie gehört zu den 10 stärksten & ältesten Bäumen in #Berlin. Der Baum stand hier schon, da war der Park kein Park, sondern Wald. Good news everyone, NO AI DuckDuckGo has landed in Tor Browser as search engine to choose from.

This makes it much easier for Tor browser users to make the NO AI DDG the default search engine.

Let's make this known to more people to have a choice to avoid using AI.

This will likely be added to Mullvad browser as well.

If you are already using DDG please consider making the NO AI DDG version the default to help save the planet and to let the DuckDuckGo owners know that you do not always want to let AI automatically generate answers even when you did not ask for it. You can still use DDG with AI when you really need it at times.

FWIW https://noai.duckduckgo.com (ddg without AI crap) is the least annoying search engine I've used recently.

Not saying it's the best option, just the one that bugs me the least.

Dang, #DDG's font has changed!

Feels more rounded, if that makes sense. Kinda like the "Everything is Fine" font of #TheGoodPlace.

I use #ddg for searching, and at every search the try to make me use #ai. I switch if off and save settings, but as certsin as amen in a church, they offer it again next time I search.

Hey, iOS users (/techy people who know things):

Recently I noticed that Firefox on my phone — yes, I know it’s not actually FF — has been doing searches with DuckDuckGo.

Not sure when that happened, because I’ve been using StartPage for the last few years.

I went into the settings and, indeed, found that DDG was the set search engine. I changed it back to StartPage and backed out of that menu and tested it on a couple of sites. Because the last couple of times I made that change, it was StartPage for a while and then slid back to DDG on its own again.

… and that happened again. I can confirm it’s changing itself from StartPage to DDG within 20 minutes.

Any idea what’s happening and how to make it stop?

Interesting development:

As I told everyone when I got back from my vacation, I've disabled #DDG #AI features on all of my browsers.

One thing I did use it for in the recent past was for summaries of queries, because it was "easier" (not morally better) to just read the AI summary to get the gist of something than click through to some crappy site and deal with all of their active "content" getting in the way of the REAL content.

What I've done for now (on mobile only, so far) is installed the noscript extension, so that my default view of most websites is without JS. That way, I either get the content I need with no distractions, or a broken page, and I just move on to the next page.

Seems to be working pretty well so far.
