the #xiegu #x6100 is an incredible looking piece of gear. it's similar to the #qrp setups and transceivers like the #g90, but can be more easily modified for #11m/cb in addition to HF use. it's got an integrated battery pack, and is compact enough i could mount it in my kitchen and connect from anywhere via wifi/ip. it looks great for backpack/go bag/out the door.
if anyone has used one on #11m or anything ubiquitous like that please tell me about it.
My lunchbox portable kit is alive and has survived a few activations.
I settled on the Xiegu #G90 for a few reasons: it is fairly compact, puts out 20W (more than QRP), and the power draw means I can get by with smaller batteries. I've even powered this with a TalentCell 12V 6Ah battery.
The kit includes a #Digirig, various cables, an EFHW, and so on. The G90 is definitely more "fiddly" than my Icom, but there's always tradeoffs.

Yesterday I went to Minute Man National Historic Park for Parks on the Air. I did Morse code only on 20 meters at 20 watts.
Good coverage into the Southeast and Midwest. With a great DX (long distance) contact into Sweden.
Selling my #hamradio #Xiegu #G90 with #digirig, cables, USB gps, metal tuning knob, feedline and a nice padded case for mobile work.
New ones go for $445, this is as-new but USED, and I'll let it go for $350 everything pictured included.
Nothing wrong with it, I just lost interest in the hobby. Made JS8 contacts as far as east coast 🙂 CW with Hawaii, SSB as far as mid-west!! (all on 10m).

After one month with my amateur radio license, the #xiegu #G90 and the #draussenfunker telescope vertical antenna a short update: I have discovered the best, most fun and most interesting hobby for me ever! The #G90 is running great and I'm super happy with the operation and everything else! I am also totally enthusiastic about the #draussenfunker vertical antenna! It's quick and easy to make and set up. I'm looking forward to what's still to come and to all the upcoming contacts!
На этот раз немного про Xiegu G90 и модем к нему. Когда-то купил и использовал даже на CB (JS8 на 27245 кГц). Но одна беда - периодически отваливался. Проверено на нескольких компьютерах и операционках. Сегодня посмотрел распиновку ACC порта и просто припаял в моно 2 джека 3,5. Работает со встроенной звуковой картой без проблем. Так что, если захочется в цифру с этого замечательного аппаратика, есть смысл прикупить только штекеры и до встречи в эфире! :)

I have borrowed a #XieguG90 to use as a portable HF station, and I have an offer to borrow an end-fed random wire antenna. This would be the park to operate all that from. The #G90 is in a very nice go kit.
Sometimes I wish I had picked up the #xeigu #x5105 back when it was the new hotness. Its price on the second hand market hasn't really gone down all that much but it'd do far better on the trail than the #G90
I'm still kicking myself for trading off my LNR Precision #mtr5b. They don't make a five band mountain topper anymore. Such a good little #radio, albeit niche. I made so many contacts in the back yard and in the woods with it.
All this #radio talk makes me want to drag my ASUS EEEPC X101CH #netbook that I mentioned yesterday out to the woods with my Xeigu #G90. Previously I was using a #pi for #ft8 but I think the netbook would be more fun.
Its charger is 19V so maybe I could run a couple batteries in parallel for it because its internal battery is shot. I could also just buy another battery... A "car" charger for it would let me charge it with my dirtbike, too. I still need power for the radio, though...
На #radio трансивере #Xiegu #G90 вскрыл корпус и посмотрел что там с динамиком. Стоит совсем уж пищалка, но заменить на другой не смог - размер замены великоват. И пищалка практически не имеет глубины и есть шанс что при громких звуках упирается в корпус. Заметно при разговорах - громкие голоса "звенели". Сделал мягкие пластиковые шайбы на пару-тройку миллиметров. Проверил на вещалке 999кГц на всю громкость - всё ок, звона нет, немного появились низы (если на этом можно их так назвать).
Despite my issues with 15m, I had a good #POTA outing and managed to get out pretty well on 20m.
