I had the random idea of trying out Linux again this weekend and installed it on my 2013 Macbook Air. The version of macOS I had on there (which is the most up to date it can be) is just old enough that most things aren't supporting it or will be losing support soon. This is part of what made me stop using it for projects all together.
This time around I went with Linux Mint to see what that is like and I chose Cinnamon Edition. No real reason why, I just thought I would check it out this time instead of installing Ubuntu again. The install worked out just fine and so far things seem good.
Now, I just need to decide what kind of projects to do on this machine. Part of me wants to use it alongside my SP404 as part of my dawless setup using things like VCV Rack or PureData or something that I can use to make generative audio type of stuff.
