The monitor above my day-job screen is almost always on #HamClock, but when someone creates an #EOC object in #APRS in Petosky, #Michigan the #YAAC map pops to foreground. The word “EMERGENCY” in the beacon triggers. Cool!

just rebooted my HamClock running on Pi 4 and found a update from 4.16 to 4.17

I activated #pota US-10658 again today and had better results than I did weeks ago. I also noticed a dead zone in the middle of my operating area from the #HamClock app; reliability map, and when compared to my RBN report, correlates precisely. #AmateurRadio #CW #CWMorse #FieldRadio

Something new.. if you use a #DXCluster be that as a user or sysop there's a now a Discord for users and operators of all the packages to come together and share their knowledge.

As a #HamRadio guy with 4 displays on all the time, 75% of which are doing something #AmateurRadio related, but 2 of them are rarely interacted with. Just something interesting to look at, like #HamClock or #TheHolyCluster I found myself occasionally moving my mouse to... (cont'd in alt txt)

So I put that up in place of 1 of my 2 #HamClock screens. Modified it to loop a YouTube of mine instead of his in the lower-left corner.

Then it sits looping 24x7, much of the time with the screen off.

Didn't even think about whether vid loops cache locally. Pro Tip: they do not.

For those of you who use #HamClock to keep a view of #HamRadio things... Do you have it configured to tell you about #Aurora - and if so, has the forecast been stuck on 82% for a couple days?

@garymcm I have #HamClock running on a Pi 1. It is pretty darn slow for interactions but as a self scrolling display it is fine.

It is one thing to note that 7 stations were heard on #160m #FT8 #HamRadio #HamClock It is yet another thing to note that it is almost a guarantee it’s the same 7 as yesterday… & as last week.

Need to look into the source of WX info that #HamClock uses.

HamClock thinks it's -18.4 degrees, but #AccuWeather says -4, #Wunderground says -3, & my own #NetAtmo outdoor unit says -5.3.

Oh, wait. This thing's using #Celsius I suppose.

Somebody on here mentioned that they keep TWO #HamClock screens up all the time. Thanks to the #GrayLine it dawned on me that makes a lot of sense. So I’m cranking up #HamRadio nonsense until they commit me.

Dunno if this was added in the most recent upgrade, or if I’d set it & it only kicked in upon upgrade, but #HamClock including lines on the map showing my RX’d stations is SUPER helpful. Don’t need to keep a separate browser window open to #pskReporter now. #HamRadio

Привет, Хабр! Это Виктор Сергеев, автор команды спецпроектов МТС Диджитал. В детстве я очень любил фантастику и обожал представлять себя в кабине космического корабля с кучей экранов, светящихся индикаторов и переключателей. Рабочее место современного радиолюбителя очень похоже на такой корабль, чему мы обязаны развитию недорогих одноплатников. Они же позволяют создавать портативные, но функциональные устройства, вроде хотспотов MMDVM (Multi-Mode Digital Voice Modem). MMDVM представляет собой самую обычную «‎малинку» Raspberry Pi Zero W с дополнительной платой (HS shield), на которой реализован радиотракт. В рабочем режиме нагрузка на процессор не слишком велика, а большую часть времени он вообще находится в простое. Именно это обстоятельство позволяет добавить внутрь очень востребованный у радиолюбителей инструмент — HamClock . О нем и расскажу.

@kb9ens @KC8JC I didn’t realize it would work on Mac! Did you do anything special? I played with a Linux #Hamclock setup - tho I’m a Mac person. Am about to switch everything over using #Crossover (if it won’t run natively on the Mac.)

To my surprise, the #HamClock is not a windows binary but an open-source X11-based utility!

Took me two minutes to compile and run it.
