I had a great #pota activation this afternoon at US-10658, people started crowding, lots of fishing and water sports. I had to relocate due to clouds of insects and lots of sap blowing from the tree I was under. I also had forgotten to activate the boom mic on my #canon90d, so all I have are photos. I activated US-10658 this morning, I didn't take pictures or film it, I was located in one of my favorite spots in the woods surrounding the lake, showing signs of scorched earth. I got 4 DX hunters, 2 Canada, 1 Indonesia and 1 Sweden. My setup was the #QMX mid band I built, CHA MPAS Lite, TP-III key and a TalentCell 12v. I perfected my QRP RF Choke.
One FT114-31 Toroid, 7 turns of RG174, one female BNC with Washer, one Male BNC. Windings held with two zip ties encapsulated with 2 inch shrink tubing. The tubing hardens after cooling, hopefully securing the washer on the female BNC connector. #fieldradio #qrp #antenna #amateurradio #hamradio
