I recommend reading the whole post. It’s an opus to how Tahoe UX design is an utter denunciation of the Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines – once considered to be the gospel of how interface design must be done.
I know it’s beating a dead horse at this pointI know it’s beating a dead horse at this point. Tahoe is a complete disgrace when it comes to user interface design. I don’t want to conflate this as denouncing Liquid Glass – although I still have issues with it. It’s how Tahoe is the worst implementation of it to the point where Mac OS isn’t what it is supposed to be.
Anyway, here’s to hoping all the changes with the leadership is all going to bear fruit sometime soon.
I’ve also realized that I might skip a mac OS version for the first time ever, esp now that I’ve successfully reverted my Mac back to Sequoia.

Another good example how #Apple is sacrificing #usability.
Another example which was basically defined in the Apple #HIG and then forgotten, ignored or abused.
If Apple is going to reverse course on menu icons, their current HIG should
• acknowledge this change,
• explain as to why they did the change, &
• show what (if any) research they did that concluded the change is positive.
Otherwise this just seems like some designer decided to do it simply because they ✨liked it better✨.

To set the scene, this was at a time before Apple turned into a vampire ecosystem where everything that they do tries to suck money out of people. It sounds naive, 'Computers are the bicycle of the mind', but Apple was very idealistic then and we were on a mission. Whatever you could do to make something attractive, engaging, and understandable for people, we were keen on that. And nothing else.
