Welchen Terminal-Emulator nutzt Mensch auf #MacOS heuer so? Nach einer Weile mit Warp (zu viel des Guten) und iTerm (wirkt angestaubt, auch wenn es das nicht ist) bin ich bei #Ghostty gelandet - der Werbespruch wäre vermutlich "weil es einfach einfach ist".

A more general example might be, which window you should be looking at in the first place.

For me, one of the features most sorely lost in the transformation of the NeXT UI to MacOS was the clear distinction between main, key, and “other” windows/panels…

By default, standard windows have a light gray title bar.

"To work in a window, you make it the key window — the window where you type, or that accepts your keystrokes. There's only one key window at a time.
A standard window with a black title bar is both the key window and the main window.”

If a panel (such as a Find panel) is key (and so has a black title bar) the main window (the window on which actions in the panel act) has a dark gray title bar.

Well, #Apple has put me in a bit of a pickle.

I work for an org with a private #CA that issues 50-year #TLS certificates. One such certificate protects #Git repos on a #Forgejo instance.

#GitLFS on #macOS says the cert is “not standards compliant”!

The CA/B standards on certificate lifetime aren't supposed to apply to private CAs (that's the org's business, not the CA/B Forum's), but for reasons I cannot fathom, Apple enforces them on private CAs too…and therefore so does Git-LFS! 🤦‍♂️

Ok, I don't even know. I just... this is beyond overreach. It's unenforceable and reeks of cyberpunk dystopia vibes. I guess all I can say is, "Good luck" 🙃
