I have a strange story about Facebook tracking and cookies I guess, maybe it was my IP address?
My brother had blocked me on Facebook at some point, then I deleted my Facebook in 2020. Then my brother died in the fall of 2021. We wrote an obituary and it was put on the webpage for the funeral home. Someone made a comment and I replied, then when someone made another comment and I replied my reply wouldn’t show up.
The next day when my repy still hadn’t appeared I emailed the funeral home and they told me that I was somehow blocked but they fixed it.
And then later on someone told me his Facebook page had been changed to a memorial page, which is super weird because I didn’t contact them and I was PR for the estate.
SOMEHOW FACEBOOK CONNECTED TO MY BROTHERS OBITUARY AND BLOCKED ME FROM COMMENTING ON IT.
I’m just glad the funeral home could fix it because there’s no way I was going to call Facebook and deal with all that in the middle of everything else and I would have felt rude if I was unable to reply to people I didn’t know how to contact otherwise.

@lhinderberger@mastodontech.de @sebmeineck Zahken wenn Journalisten für ein Medium arbeiten und eigene Inhalte entwickeln. Ok. Das tun #facebook und #instgram aber nicht. Dort sind es die User der Plattformen, welche den Inhalt generieren. Und dafür zahlt dann #meta / #zuckerberg noch nicht mal was, sondern greift den Usern in die Tasche.
