It’s a 7-8h long #train trip but free of any meeting (it gonna be a productive work day).

Tomorrow, I will talk about #cosmic pluralism, from the Ancient #Greek, to the future #space mission that are foreseen by the mid of this century.

Leaving #Marseille to #Paris with the 5:19 early morning #train for a face-2-face meeting. Together with colleagues from #Bordeaux, #Montpellier, #Toulouse, #Paris, etc… we will discuss how to do #sustainable #research in #astrophysics.
This meeting is part of the #INSU @cnrs prospective work that will be presented in fall 2024.

Very short #train trip today, I’m just going to #Montpellier for a #committee.

It’s a bit disappointing since all committee members but 3 (and the host) will attend remotely.

Post-#pandemic, many French #academics don’t want to #travel anymore, even by train.

I think lunch-time discussions will be to move those meetings (twice every year) to full remote. #Research funding is not an issue here.

#InTheTrainAgain This time, I’m in the #train, but not for work. I’m traveling with all the #family for #holidays. It’s going to be a great 9h-long #trip with beautiful views through the window.

#InTheTrainAgain After an intensive but very fruitfull #PLATO meeting in Prague, it’s time to take the #train back to Marseille. The first one has an awesome name and is travelling to Munich. Tomorrow morning, I will take another train to Paris and finally to Marseille.

Any resemblance to a private company launching rockets and polluting the night sky is purely coincidental - hopefully!

#InTheTrainAgain Today I’m traveling by #train to Munich and then tomorrow to Prague for a PLATO @esascience meeting (first face-to-face meeting since 2019).

I could have taken the #Ryanair direct flight, but this would have emitted 10x more CO2eq and in the context of #globalwarming and #ClimateChange, we should #StayGrounded as much as possible (🚅 instead of ✈️).
