Has anyone tried to advance the idea of GLOP-like #IPv6 prefix assignments?
There are probably at least as many arguments against such a proposal than there would be to advance it, but is often useful to say we asked that question and came to a consensus in why or why not.
The reasons for might include using it for private address space or just to have globally autonomous assignments outside of the RIRs. The reasons against might be that it is unnecessary and is independent of RIRs. :-)
No trickery, no proxies, this is really the #IPv6 address for my Windows 98 install.
So let me get this straight: - You need to enclose #IPv6 addresses in square brackets when using them in URLs, because... - The colon is already used to separate addresses from ports in URLs, and IPv6 uses colons to separate hex groups. So the question is... why did IPv6 choose to separate parts

So the question is... why did IPv6 choose to separate parts with colons?! IPv4 used periods for that and I can't see why they wouldn't have worked for IPv6 too. Did they somehow go out of fashion? :)

It took a few hours but I removed the dependancy on the Polish IPv4 fail-over address (OVH name for additional ipv4).
So the traffic isn't routed to OVH Poland Public Cloud then routed over their private network (vRack) to the dedicated server in India anymore :)
I was also able to restore the IPv6 connectivity (still over the vRack but with an official OVH service) so Pleroma is now able to connect to other instance over #ipv6.

According to Wikipedia:
"A cartel is an organization formed by producers to limit competition and increase prices by creating artificial shortages through low production quotas, stockpiling, and marketing quotas."
IPv4 is an artificial shortage. It's just a number, and we have had a fix for it for a quarter century now: #IPv6
Companies (like Amazon and Microsoft's Github) that provide IPv4 only services are the cartel that is preventing our Internet from evolving.
@GuidoKostons @f4grx @nixCraft @torproject as long as you're not having underprovisioned hardware that should work - even with #IPv6.
