Jadeite rock outcrop at Clear Creek, near Paicines, California. BLM Clear Creek Management Area is home to many different types of minerals and metals. Jadeite is common, and Mercury and Asbestos (Serpentine) were mined and quarried at CCMA, on a huge scale. Jadeite bird pendant bead from Costa Rica, Central Region, dated 4th–7th Century, 6.7 x 1.9 x 4.7 cm.

On display in the Wiltshire Museum - a beautifully polished jadeite axe.
Over 5,000 years old and was brought there from the Northern Italian Alps during the Neolithic.
