A #Lötschberg🇨🇭#EuroCity bound for Germany 🇩🇪 seen at #Spiez in the early 2000s: a #BLS #Re465 hauls a long consist of DB cars. The #verkehrsrot paint scheme has been applied on the first one, whereas others display the orient-red #Produktfarben livery. A #WRmz137 type #DiningCar is positioned fourth behind the loco.

Pictures taken, around the turn of the millennium, on the #Lötschberg 🇨🇭 line, while travelling from #Spiez to #Brig in a Swiss fresh air coach. This is an #InterCity from #Basel, probably IC 331 “Val d’Ossola”, with the first six air-conditioned cars, provided by #FS #Trenitalia, going as far as #Milano 🇮🇹.

Passing through the Swiss Alps by means of the #Lötschberg tunnel car-carrying train earlier today. The #BLS Re4/4 in their classic brown livery, lined up at #Kandersteg yard, used to be the main work horses on the line for many years.

Die #Autoverladung von der Schiene auf die Straße ist auf der Schweizer Strecke #Lötschberg – Simplon in der Vergangenheit mehrmals ins Stocken geraten. Grund waren unterbrochene Software-Updates während der Fahrt mit dem Autozug #BLS-Autoverlad.

Good morning from the #SBB🇨🇭#elvetino @diningcar. Enjoying a (late,second) breakfast ☕️🥐 in the #Bistro section. It is located at the lower deck of this #IC2000 double-deck car as we speed at 200kph through the #Lötschberg base tunnel.

On the #Lötschberg🇨🇭 tunnel car-carrying train from #Goppenstein to #Kandersteg. (There’s no road tunnel up here.) In front of us: a sheep trailer marked “Tiertransport” - and you can hear their baa and meh. They’re going home after having spent the summer in the #Valais Alps. 🐏🐑😊

Im letzten Post erwähnte ich das Hotel „Victoria Jungfrau“ als grosses Highlight in der Ausstellung von Smilestones. Ein weiteres sehr gelungenes Exponat – mithin mein liebstes Stück – ist nur wenige Meter weiter zu finden: Es handelt sich um den Raddampfer „Lötschberg“, der da ebenfalls im Massstab 1:87 nachgebaut worden ist. Das Original fährt auf dem Brienzersee, während sein Schwesterschiff, die „Blüemlisalp“, auf dem Thunersee ihre Runden zieht.

Die „Lötschberg“ jedenfalls, sie wurde in liebevoller Feinarbeit während unzähliger Stunden im Massstab 1:87 nachgebaut und mit vielen Ausflügern bevölkert.
