The challenge for #Mastoton is not to adopt the false rules of dumb growth that #libertarianism / #neoliberalism always preaches.
The #Fediverse then naturally has an organic growth, that allows this kind of quality dynamics, that is not disallowed by venture capital to gain speed and to grab the next monopoly.
In the medium term, quality must always take precedence over quantity - because the opposite is the reason for democratic toxicity of monopoly platforms.

#Mastoton v4.2 で v4.3 update を待つ間にできること。
1.node.js の update。v18以上へ。
root で作業を。

の手順で行い、最後に
# apt update
擦れば、node.js 20 をインストールできる。
2. libvips の導入
@noellabo の指示通りに、ソースから install する。

ubuntu user で。sudo 指示の所は忠実に。
/usr/local/bin および /usr/local/lib に実行ファイルができる。
vips -v
でversion が出ればOK。
出なければ、
$ vim ~/.profile
で
set $PATH="$PATH:/usr/local/bin
行追加。
$ sudo vim /etc/ld.so.conf
の最後の行に
/usr/local/lib/
を追加、保存。
$ sudo ldconfig

#Mastoton deliberately decided to not have some fancy algorithm to assemble my #timeline. The more the network grows, the more I think this naive approach is actually bad. Now single users flood the entire stream, which makes browsing an annoying and tiring experience. Unrolling #threads into the timeline makes this even worse.
