Number 14: Mythological

Decided to go for Medusa for this, they did my girl dirty.
Her turning to stone when looking at herself might be pop-culture but I liked the concept so much I had to go for it 😅

Digital illustration in blues and yellows. The greek goddess Medusa is holding a smartphone as if to take a selfie, she is made of stone. Her hair is made up of snakes and she wears a traditional greek dress. On the back of the phone the apple of discordia is depicted. Around her as a frame is a corkboard with polaroid pictures of headshots of other greek gods, namely Ares, Hermes, Dionysus, Hades, Artemis, Aphrodite and Zeus.

A particularly gruesome yokai I did for drawlloween a few years back. The Sagari are apparitions of a horses head which drops down from trees on travellers. They are the souls of horses that die on the road and are discarded and left to rot where they fall.
