Meteors and Satellite Trails over the Limay River

This image captures the Milky Way, satellite trails including Starlink, Eta Aquariids meteors, and #Venus over Argentina's Limay River. It's a composite of exposures taken on May 4, showing celestial and artificial objects illuminated by reflected sunlight.

Explanation:
What are all those streaks in the sky? A galaxy, many satellite trails, and a few meteors. First, far in the distance, the majestic band of our Milky Way Galaxy runs down the left. Mirroring it on the right are several parallel trails of Earth-orbiting Starlink satellites. Many fainter satellite trails also crisscross the image. The two short and bright streaks are meteors — likely members of the annual Eta Aquariids meteor shower. The planet Venus shines on the lower right. Venus and the satellites shine by reflected sunlight. The featured picture is a composite of exposures all taken in a few hours on May 4 over the Limay River in Argentina.

Heute an der neuen #Meteor @geomar_de vorbeigefahren. Sieht ganz schön wuchtig aus. #Forschungsschiff #Werft

The #multipolygon usage for #meteor #crater mapping in #OpenStreetMap seemed not to be clear, added some examples 🖼️ to the discussion : wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ta

As already mentioned above, it would make sense if some #asteroid ☄️, #geology or #meteoritics specialists would give their input. The results could also be embedded in #Wikipedia

Aurora Shimmer, #Meteor Flash

A 30-second exposure captures a serene auroral glow and a Geminid fireball meteor over Kvaløya, Norway in 2009. Both phenomena occur around 100 km up but stem from different sources: auroras from charged particles, meteors from cosmic dust. The 2018 Geminids peak soon, vying with moonlight.

@OSM_tourism Thanks for mentioning this tag! It made me look, and it turns out Barringer Crater wasn't tagged as a #meteor #crater, so I've done that and added associated data (hope I did it right). I was happy to see that Upheaval Dome was already tagged.
