I feel like my lungs are about 73% spores right now.

The #22spotladybird #Psyllobora #vigintiduopunctata (#Coccinellidae) is distributed in Europe, Asia and North Africa. The animals live on the edges of forests, meadows and often on oak trees. Because these are often psrasitized by powdery #mildew (#Erysiphaceae), which is convenient for the #ladybird as it feeds on mildew. When threatened, the adult beetles play dead (#thanatosis). #biodiversity

Okay, so my first was a after all, even though I lost like 3/4 (or more) to (or a similar fungus).

Not only did I break even (I had to buy stuff, of course), but I exceeded my own - VERY low - goal.

Apart from that, I also learned quite a lot from my first grow, so I don't have to make the same mistakes all over again next year! ✌🏻

All in all quite a success, I must say.

Also, I now do have a bit more empathy for being at weather's mercy, if you will.

Well, it certainly looks like those have *and* "mutant fruits" infection, doesn't it? πŸ˜’

One is covered in fur-like yellow tentacles, the other is only partially covered by tentacles (normal appearance would be a smooth dark red small fruit)

#Strawberry #powdery #mildew, Podosphaera aphanis, is common and causes yield losses of up to 30%. Review of the epidemiology and management of this #plant #pathogen in the journal Phytopathologia Mediterranea by Anna Aldrighetti and Ilaria Pertot - oajournals.fupress.net/index.p

The cycle of Podosphaera aphanis on strawberry: conidia and ascospores germinate in spring and infect green tissue, polycyclic secondary asexual production of conidia follow and new infections in the summer, the formation of chasmothecia start in autumn which release ascospores in the winter.

May I introduce the horizontal trellis. Why? Gem squashes, like most #curcurbits, need plenty of space to ramble. When they spread across the lawn you can't mow it for months and the dampness creates perfect conditions for powdery #mildew Still experimental but now they should get plenty of ventilation and I will be able to mow underneath πŸ˜€

Oh wise people, lend me advice. The sunroof drains on my car got clogged. Water backed up into the car for an unknown duration. Car smells of #mold and or #mildew Going to the car wash did not help. It’s currently 78 degrees Fahrenheit outside, I have the heater on high with everything sealed up hoping to kill whatever invivible spores are hidden. Drains are clear and everything is dry to the touch. Any other suggestions? #car #carsmells #odorremoval #question #advice

Clear signs of the kinds of challenges that climate change brings are encapsulated in what the French wine industry has experienced these past 3 seasons, summarised in this article.

It's more like "Climate Changing" or "Climate Changed," not "Climate Change..." :-(

You probably use the words mold and mildew interchangeably. But these two types of fungi aren't quite the same. Is one worse?

Does anyone have experience using neem oil as a fungicide?

I made up a solution yesterday (quarter teaspoon neem oil, few drops washing up liquid in about 500ml water) and tested it on this pumpkin leaf. These pictures are taken a day apart, I don’t know how to tell if the progressive yellowing is damage from the neem oil or just because it was yellowing anyway?
