Hmm, schade, bei @organicmaps scheint‘s gerade – gelinde gesagt – etwas zu rumpeln. Wer diese nutzungs- und datenschutzfreundliche, lokale Maps- und Navigations-App kennt und bisher schätzte, sollte vielleicht schon mal @CoMaps folgen.
Dort ist auch der offene Brief zu finden, in dem die Community die Probleme zusammengefasst hat. Vielleicht entsteht dort auch ein #Fork.

Die bisherige US-501(c)(3)-Organisation bleibt für Fundraising und Beratung zuständig. Vorstandsmitglied Amir Ghavi, der den Wandel juristisch begleitete, trat zurück. Neu im Vorstand ist Hannah Aubry, Expertin für Community- und Open-Source-Arbeit. Auch das Team wächst: David, Shannon und Echo verstärken die Technik, Scott Jenson berät zur Produktstrategie, Andy Piper ist neuer Kommunikationsleiter, Philip Schröpel wurde Chief of Staff, Zora Steiner Junior-Projektmanagerin. Das Team zählt nun 15 Personen, davon 3 in Teilzeit oder freiberuflich. Mastodon bleibt werbefrei, datenschutzfreundlich und dezentral – ohne Risikokapital. Die Organisation setzt weiter auf Community-Unterstützung für Entwicklung, Betrieb und politische Arbeit im Fediverse.

Dagen då jag måste ta itu med att spara ner allt på lokal disk för att rensa bort allt Microsoft/Meta/Adobe/molnish och annat urk och ev byta OS närmar sig med stormsteg.

Det känns
helt
omöjligt
jobbigt
och svårt.

Steg ett bör vara att ta sig råd att beställa någon form av extremt stor och över tid fungerande hårddisk. Min backupdisk är för liten.

I was curious if anyone has made a license that exempts AI training or related fields from usage rights granted.

An example being something written, designed, coded, composed etc. under a license as close to totally open source as possible, but all rights reserved in the case of AI or machine training and related fields?

#Microsoft role out #passkeys by default but ... require you to install a Microsoft app on your phone to use it.

Requiring a proprietary app makes a mockery of the open #fido2 standard and if they haven't used this as another tracking opportunity I'll eat my hat.

At every turn Microsoft finds a way to lock down their users (I'd use "customers" but users are more like cattle to big tech rather than people who choose to give their custom)

Ditch the lot! #openSource alternatives exist.
