I love #redhat #openshift it makes my work with #kubernetes so much easier.
I still prefer tools like k9s and kubectl over a gui but for some tasks, Like updating operators it is really nice to have a web gui that does most of the work for you :)

☸ We're excited that our talk has been accepted, and we'll speak at DevConf.CZ this June
We will introduce Outrigger — a vision for evolving Kubernetes scheduling into a dynamic, collaborative framework. Drawing from our work on the Multiarch Tuning Operator for OpenShift and insights from Kueue, this initiative explores how scheduling gates can unlock smarter pod placement through coordination and competition among multiple controllers.
Discover how we envision a two-level, distributed future for Kubernetes scheduling, where specialized controllers dynamically enrich pod specs, and observability systems close the loop with real-time feedback. The goal: better performance, stronger SLA guarantees, lower costs, and greater energy efficiency across clusters.
Come join the conversation at #DevConfCZ!

Come hang out as @seattledawson, Dan Juengst, and I will all be at #RedHatSummit in Boston next week at the @chronosphereio #219 booth to chat about open source, #cloudnative #observability, and help you add some #o11y to your #OpenShift toolbox! https://chronosphere.io/red-hat-summit-2025/

#GitOpsPlayground (GOP) version 0.11.0 finally facilitates running in air-gapped environments:
It can provide standardized #IDPs,
even when are they are #airgapped,
even when they run on #OpenShift.
🥳

The next big thing we are working on is the option to role out dedicated instances per tenant, that are managed centrally.
Kind of like an IDP as a Service (Is #IDPaaS a thing? 😅)

My #OKD upgrade history is surprisingly smooth. #OKD is an upstream #Kubernetes distribution that builds #OpenShift.
Hey #kubernetes krowd (?)
Say you're using #HelmCharts to spin things up, and you want to kick off some kubernetes jobs...
Do you usualy kick them off via Helm, or do you just do a `kubectl apply -f <somejob.yaml>`?
We're migrating to use #RedHat #OpenShift and we want to take the most advantage of k8s, but we also have a bunch of old batch jobs that are kicked off (distinct #Java and #Python apps)
We don't have any long-running services, but any advice would be 👍
Je serais au prochain OpenShift meetup mercredi prochain pour parler de Podman et Podman Desktop: https://www.meetup.com/openshift-france/events/307221452/?slug=openshift-france&isFirstPublish=true #openshift #podman #podman-desktop #meetup
Nerding with #Flarum discussion forum continues. If you want to try it, I built containers for #podman, and created #kubernetes #openshift configs for it. Images for x86 are available in quay.
Looking at my company's openshift docs and asking myself why IT is saying I should be using openshift for my internal app. Is it because they paid a lot for the licenses, support, and training?
Trying to figure out my upskilling path beyond Ansible for a DevOps/SRE role. Given my Linux background (and Fedora contributions), would focusing on OpenShift or a major cloud platform (AWS/GCP) be a better bet? Or can I manage all concurrently? Cheers for any advice! #DevOpsJourney #SRECareers #CloudSkills #OpenSource #fedora #rhel #openshift #ansible

One more thing, that isn't mentionned in the above article: the recent versions of ovn-kubernetes have a new feature called UDN for User Defined Network, which is basically segmentation. More about that here: https://developers.redhat.com/articles/2025/05/01/native-network-segmentation-virtualization-workloads#requirements
Oh, that's a nice and long post on #kubevirt written for #vSphere admins who might consider migrating:
https://veducate.co.uk/kubevirt-for-vsphere-admins-deep-dive-guide/
As said, #redhat is well positioned in that space. For those admins looking into #openshift #virtualization , during the migration process, you may want to use NetObserv to monitor closely your workloads network.

I use this container to demo a container build and how to deploy it with helm on a Kubernetes cluster. Some test tools (ping, DNS, curl, wget) are included to execute some tests on the deployed pod.
It also includes a Makefile to build the container and deploy it on a Red Hat OpenShift Local (formerly Red Hat CodeReady Containers) cluster.
