To the developers using Mac OS X with Docker. Is there a demand for a chargeable device that allows you to run Docker without killing your battery or depleting your hard-drive? Something like a "physical" Docker machine that you can switch on and off for development purposes.

Note that this USB accelerator/accessory would pull arm64 images even when your workstation is based on an amd64 processor.

Probably a niche use case, but I mostly wanted to document what I learned, which was that #podman's --ipv6 flag did not actually do what I thought it would.

Finally set properly labels for docker (the one from fedora (Moby engine) not official one)

took time to put :z :Z and also located the label of the socket to allow watchtower to make it’s update wile retaining full selinux work

sad that @Podman_io doc is so messy, I’m an advanced used and after 2 day of work failing to understand the ACTUAL way of generating properly auto update / systemd rootless, I just moved back on docker.

it’s REALLY time you work on make it more clear guy, when an advanced user cannot make anything but the deprecated version for systemd you have a problem.

Just migrated my Cloud-Server at Netcup from CentOS-Stream 9 :centos: to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10 :redhat:

Since all my workloads were containerized with Podman :podman: that was very simple to do:

- Deploying new server in parallel
- Stopping all containers
- Moving the volumes and the systemd/quadlet files over to the new machine (/etc/containers/systemd)
- Starting all containers on the new host
- Updating DNS entries to new IP addresses
- Decomissioning the old machine

What is the simplest and best FOSS podman container registry?

I have a small web application with a front end in svelte, an nginx reverse proxy, and a database. I'm planning to run it all on one virtual machine on DigitalOcean for the time being.

So far, I've been able build all of my images from a standard Debian base image, so I have minimal dependencies on docker.io or other third-parties registries.

I've been having a pretty good time learning how to containerize a web app. I've been trying to learn podman. I've gotten a svelte webpage to boot up with an HTTP port. Now, I'm trying to get an nginx reverse proxy in a separate container. I'm now trying to get a podman container to load in systemd. All of my images are local. No images are pushed to remote servers, like docker.io. Now, I'm having trouble getting a container to run from systemd. I'm using podman's new quadlet feature, and it seems to not support loading local images... Hmm...

If you want to run @silverbulletmd on #Fedora #Silverblue using #podman and run into PermissionDenied errors, you have to mount the /space folder with labeling enabled (add :z to the volume mount), to make #selinux happy, i.e.

podman run -it -p 3000:3000 -v ./space:/space:z ghcr.io/silverbulletmd/silverbullet:v2
