Ich passe dann mal auf die Technik hier auf. Habe sogar einen standesgemäßen Adlerhorst aus einem Stapel von Netzwerkgeräten. Leider ist der DSLAM, also das DSL-Modem auf Providerseite, nicht angeschlossen. Dann hätte ich es auch schön kuschelig warm.
Retro- und Vintage-Computing auf dem Helenenfest am 6. September in Hamburgs Stadtteil Altona beim #CCCHH. Gerade Ruhe hier, der erste Schwung an Besuchern scheint gerade die Fressbuden zu stürmen. Zu sehen: SPARCstation 4 an Thickwire-Ethernet, PiDP-10, PiDP-11, ein kleiner Stapel an Netzwerkgeräten um Internet in der Ecke und auf dem Thickwire-Ethernet zu haben, zu guter letzt ein BTX-Terminal mit der Leitseite der Deutschen Bundesbahn.

@kenshirriff Thx for the info, Master Ken! 🤗 It was a dream come true when I visited the CHM in May 2013. ❤️ I wish I can do it again some fine day in the future. It would be amazing to then be able to meet & greet & hang out a bit with you and the „gang“ around #CuriousMarc. Until then I‘ll play with my #PiDP8 and maybe oder & build a #PiDP11 or even #PiDP10 kit. 🙈🤓 Have a great Sunday! ☀️
@rzbrk Mein Informatik LK Lehrer (damals, Mitte der 80er) war der Knaller und wir hatten sowohl eine PDP 8/e, als auch eine PDP 11/23 in der Schule! 🤩 Damals war ich allerdings eher auf dem Turbo Pascal Trip (BGI Treiber für EGA Grafik! 😂) und konnte mit diesen geschichtsträchtigen Maschinen von #DEC nicht viel anfangen. 🤷♂️ Würde er noch leben, hätte er *sicher* auch eine #PiDP8 und/oder #PiDP11 zuhause! #computerhistory #digital #pdp8 #pdp8e #pdp11
@gpowerf Well, it really gives you an idea of just how powerful modern machines are. SIMD is wonderful, but the fact that a classic machine like the #IBM1401 can be simulated in its entirety, computationally and visually, including spinning tapes, card punches and #blinkenlights on a modern laptop, without it breaking a sweat, really brings it home. Same with the #PiDP11.

No, I'm not logged into this PDP-11/70 from my Z80 "personal computer" kit to change my grade in Biology class. But I am logged into the BSD 2.11 Unix that is currently running on it using serial-to-telnet capability that understands Hayes-like modem commands.
I fixed it! My PiDP 11 board stopped working a while ago and I feared some sort of circuit failure. Turn out my Raspberry Pi SD card became corrupted and the system couldn’t boot. #raspberrpi #pidp11 #PiDP1170
#ThrowbackThursday, I had fun putting together the #PiDP11 kit and playing some #ColossalCaveAdventure. I would like to hook up my #VT510. Not period correct, it's what I have on hand. For now it sits behind my desk with its beautiful #BlinkenLights.
