@ntnsndr and others, do you know of any consumer, worker, or platform cooperative domain registrar for domains beyond .coop? After paying nearly $40/year to renew some soon-expiring domains at Gandi, and generally rampant private equity in the domain registration space, it would be awesome to support a #cooperative. #platformcoop #cooperatives

It was a bit too much admin for us to keep up with right now.
However you can still join for only £3 per month for co-operatively run Matrix and Nextcloud with Single Sign On provided by Keycloak.
When we get to 10 users (we currently have 7), there will be the opportunity to have a say in the future direction of the co-op.
Of course, the flipside of that is that I need to find some time to work up my platform co-op thoughts/plans for spinning out/supporting some bits of what we do
Researchers from three british universities made a study about Unlocking the Social Value of Platform Cooperatives
We took part in the study and were interviewed to report on our work as a platform cooperative in Germany.
It is very valuable for us to see the results, which include findings from many European countries.

Imagine a platform cooperative (see: https://platform.coop/about/vision-and-advantages/) owned by the businesses that use it, sharing the costs of a single online payment gateway (I worked on a website project that needed one, they're not trivial). Imagine they're hosting Free Code software, which might be maintained in concert with other cooperatives doing similar work.
