Purposely took my #FT817 / #Z817 to use with my #KM4CFT 9:1 UNUN and Random Wire to my Antenna Proving Ground during pretty bad #HFband conditions. I had a short 20M CW #MorseCode #QSO with LJ #KI5GTR. Since it worked today, it will work under most any condition. HOORAY!

I am interested in what empirical evidence can be had to determine how much power is "as much as you need to make the contact."

This FT8 sequence seems to be one of those data points. I tried for a while to get this Chilean station and then someone from my grid square swoops in to get the QSO!

Recently went from a 25W rig to a 5W rig. Fewer QSOs and more incomplete exchanges, though I know the bands have been rough.

I made a #QSO yesterday with OE5PJO who was activating #SOTA summit HA/ND-001 (Írott-kő). He gave me a very low report. I don’t know wether it was because of my setup or because I was talking to him while riding the bike. Anyway, glad I had some air time! #hamradio #amateurradio #amateurfunk

Is there an established convention for acknowledging a #QSL card sent by an #SWL??
I have received a QSL card from a very kind SWL who has correctly reported a #QSO between me and another station. They have requested acknowledgement of their reception report, but I don't know how to. Should I send them a QSL card with the details for my 2-way QSO but write on it that it was accurately received by the SWL??
