We have just launched the Geneva Quantum Network: 260+ km of fibre, 6 nodes, all setup and running with QKD, entangled systems, White Rabbit and very soon a new quantum clock from Rolex. Exciting times.

The initial partners are: the University of Geneva, the Applied universty in Geneva (HEPIA), CERN QTI, along with companies ID Quantique and Rolex, as well as the state government's office for Information Systems and Digital Technology.

#QuantumCommunication: SE3 experiments launched

The #QuNET initiative’s SE3 experiments have begun. A research aircraft sends single photons to an ion trap at #MPL labs, involving @DLR, @Fraunhofer_IOF, and @FraunhoferHHI. The aircraft circles MPL, sending photons to a ground station telescope. Funded by the @bmbf_bund, QuNET is creating secure IT networks to counter future cyber attacks. This groundbreaking work paves the way for resilient quantum technologies.
