Popped into record shop to see what’s left after #rsd24 saw Jungle reissued #FieldsOfTheNephilim’s Genesis plus Burning the Fields on vinyl (£33) and already in eBay at prices up to £90 🙄 #rsd

#RSD24 was a success from all reports. Its success was not driven by a desire for an #AnalogRenaissance, but by #swifties and their 'collecting' zeal. How very sad.

So after almost four hours in line, I reached the front and the RSD releases. Thankfully, all the ones I was hoping to find were still there, though a couple were down to one or two copies by that point.

I picked up my top two priorities: the first-ever reissue of Travis Biggs’ often-sampled “Solar Funk,” and “Wave to the WOOniverse,” a posthumous collection of unreleased bits and pieces by the great Bernie Worrell, augmented by a slate of collaborators.

Thanks to the staff at Josey Records in Dallas keeping it all smooth and organized, and for the patience and camaraderie of all who turned out this morning, despite the rain!

I found out about this album a year or two ago because of the Robert Fripp connection. It was the hardest one to find today, limited to 1,500 copies worldwide, which is a small run for RSD. The price was eye-watering for a single album, (it must be the most I’ve ever paid for a single record), but listening now, no regrets. Such a great album. And it’s red!
