JS does not need a browser. Here is my shallow understanding so far:
There are three important runtimes:
• #NodeJS is reliable, the most established, least secure, slowest.
• #Deno was created by the original developer of Node.js to address security and speed.
• #Bun is the fastest and the least mature of the 3.

playing with and deploying some little side projects in new #runtimes or languages (#rust, #golang, etc.) has been quite fun recently.

definitely something that’s missing at work, where we’re mostly keeping exciting systems alive and not doing much #infrastructure experimentation (or have no say in them).

I'm an #HPC application support expert based in France. In darker times I was a user (PhD in #astrophysics studying #StarFormation), then a developer (OpenMP & OpenACC versions of a previously pure MPI app), then I even focused on other stuff (like PhD #CareerPath or #GenderEquality in higher ed) and now I work among #supercomputers & #sysadmins. I'm interested in #GPU, #runtimes, #QuantumComputing. I maintain Wi4MPI.
