My flock of hens, so far. Based on a tradition from India, where owning hens is a sign of prosperity, and a string of these little handmade beauties hanging near your door is an invitation for prosperity to enter your household. Linnen restjesshirt

Ongelofelijk maar waar: na een jurk, twee shirts en een vest van restjes blauw en groen linnen had ik nog steeds genoeg lapjes over voor nog een shirt. Sterker nog, ik had aanvankelijk weer een zuinig T-shirt met korte mouwen gepland, maar toen ik de stapel lapjes zo eens bekeek, en het vrij matige weer tot nu toe dit jaar, bedacht ik dat een shirt met lange mouwen ook wel kon. #sewing #ScrapBusting

Project restjes: jersey

Weer een stapje vooruit in project weg met de restjes: ik heb eens een zwik jersey restjes weggewerkt. Voornamelijk tencel jersey over van T-shirts en jurken en zo, met hier en daar nog een snipper katoen. Ik had bedacht daar een hele zwik ondergoed van te maken, maar toen ik zo eens naar de berg lapjes keek, dacht ik dat er ook nog wel een T-shirtje uit te peuren was. #sewing #ScrapBusting

Restjesgeodesic

Het streven om de restjes op te maken gaat door. Dit keer met een geodesic-T-shirt. Het patroon is eigenlijk voor een sweatshirt, maar ik had al eerder vastgesteld dat met met niet-rekbare stof ook prima kan. Het bestaat uitallemaal kleine stukjes, dus prima geschikt om kleine restanten op te maken. Vooral als je er korte mouwen van maakt.

So today I avoided adjusting the top by starting on a pincushion I can wear on a finger so it's handy when I'm fitting things or ironing things.

Long long ago, when I made facemasks, the fabric layout resulted in a lot of same-shape scraps. I kept them because they looked like leaves or feathers or something. #Sewing #ScrapBusting
