Effective today, I have changed my Mastodon screen name on this account from Guillotine Jones, Flâneur, to Guillotine Jones, Honorary Canadian.
This is to represent my disgust at the actions of the current US regime; its convicted-felon leader; its ketamine- addled, chainsaw wielding viceroy; and every malevolent, dysfunctional, incompetant lying boob heading a cabinet in this government of malign fools.
Secondarily, I intend to support our neighbors to the north: A nation of decent people leading decent lives who in no way deserve how they are being treated by a man who isn't fit to lick the dirt off their shoes.

I am a follower of rules; rules on this instance don't allow inciting violence, and I am afraid my current screen name is coming just a bit too close to the edge.
Because I have a much smaller character limit on my other instance, I had to divide the poll into nine twts.

What was your first #handle / #screenname / #gamertag / etc?
When I started calling #dialup #BBS systems around age 11, I used the handle "POTPURI". A shortened form of "potpourri." The reason for the shortened spelling is that I first used it when playing Summer Games on the #C64 with our family. I wanted to come up with a funny name and thought of the line from the #WeirdAl song "I Lost on Jeopardy" that said, "I took potpourri for one hundred and then my head started to spin..." but the whole word wouldn't fit into the character limit. This was incredibly funny to 10/11 year old Matt.

Er, as with all polls, please share... Although I think it being devoid of context makes it funnier for others.
There exist things in a #profile, #handle or #screenname that almost certainly cause me to instantly #block the handle, or occasionally, the entire #instance. Even so, I don't necessarily want to #automate this because that wouldn't account for #context, #humor, #irony, etc.
Anyone else have a similar #predicament?

Was it spontaneous and just kinda stuck or suits you have a decision process before? Do you publish art under a pseudonym or do you use your real name?
I'm thinking of pucking up freelance work 4real but I have to register myself at the tax authorities and well, I have to give them a name 😅
