The #Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed on 25 December was subjected to "external interference" & damaged inside & out, as it tried to land in #Russia's southern republic of Chechnya.
The plane came under fire from Russian air defence systems before being diverted across the Caspian Sea to Kazakhstan, where it crashed killing 38.

Anti-air units shot the plane down as it was attempting to fire on Ukrainian positions, the statement said

This is the 5th Russian Su-25 jet that Ukraine has shot down this month.
The Soviet-designed Su-25, nicknamed “Frogfoot” by NATO, is a heavily armored ground-attack aircraft that provides close air support for Russian ground troops. The aircraft helps Russia carry out intense attacks in multiple sections of the eastern front, which covers much of Donetsk Oblast.
